Director – People Partnering APAC (HRBP)

The Director - People Partnering (APAC) will lead the development and delivery of forward-thinking people partnering activities across the Asia-Pacific region. Based in Singapore, this role is both strategic and operational, ensuring the design and execution of scalable, regionally aligned people practices as Nscale continues its global growth.

Reporting directly to the Global Director, Head of People Partnering, you will partner closely with senior regional leaders, including President APAC and global stakeholders to shape and deliver key People initiatives. You will provide expert guidance across talent strategy, employee relations, organisational effectiveness, leadership capability, and regional compliance across multiple APAC jurisdictions.

This is a critical regional leadership role, balancing commercial acumen with deep People expertise to enable high performance across diverse markets.

What You’ll Be Doing

Strategic Business Partnering

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to APAC senior leaders, providing strategic, tactical, and operational guidance on people-related matters.
    Coach and influence leaders to build and lead high-performing teams, driving excellence in decision-making, performance standards, and accountability
  • Use people analytics and data-driven insights to inform decision-making and measure the impact of People initiatives across the region
  • Partner with regional and global leadership to define and execute people strategies aligned to business objectives
  • Shape organisational design, workforce planning, succession planning, and leadership capability in line with regional growth priorities
  • Act as the regional voice for APAC within the global People Partnering leadership team

Employee Experience & Culture

  • Design and implement regionally relevant programs that drive engagement, retention, and a high-performance culture across APAC
  • Act as an advocate for employees, ensuring an inclusive and psychologically safe work environment across diverse cultural contexts
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to enhance the employee lifecycle experience, from onboarding through career progression.
    Ensure alignment of global culture initiatives with regional nuances and market dynamics

Performance & Development

  • Lead the execution of performance enablement and management frameworks across APAC
  • Drive leadership and career development initiatives that support capability building in high-growth markets
  • Equip managers with tools and training to foster continuous learning, feedback, and development
  • Support succession planning and regional talent pipelines for critical roles

Employee Relations

  • Provide expert guidance on complex employee relations matters across multiple APAC jurisdictions
  • Ensure compliance with regional employment laws and local labour regulations
  • Partner with legal and compliance teams to manage sensitive and complex cases in a fair and consistent manner
  • Develop regionally appropriate Employee Relatins strategies that align with Nscale’s global values while mitigating risk
  • Educate and support managers in navigating employee relations matters effectively and confidently

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI)

  • Champion and embed DEI principles throughout the employee lifecycle across APAC
  • Partner with leaders and employee groups to drive initiatives that promote representation, equity, and belonging
  • Ensure policies and practices are equitable and culturally relevant across diverse markets.

Organisational Effectiveness & Change Management

  • Support regional organisational design to ensure scalable structures and role clarity
  • Lead regional change management initiatives during periods of transformation and growth
  • Develop communication and engagement strategies to minimise disruption and support adoption
  • Balance business outcomes with employee well-being during change efforts

Talent Management & Development

  • Partner with leaders to design and execute regional talent strategies, including succession planning, leadership development, and capability building
  • Identify critical skill gaps across APAC markets and implement programs to address them
  • Provide executive coaching to regional leaders to elevate leadership capability and alignment with company values

People Data & Analytics

  • Leverage regional people analytics to assess trends in attrition, engagement, performance, and workforce capability
  • Establish regional dashboards and track KPIs to measure the effectiveness and impact of People initiatives
  • Translate data into actionable insights for regional and global leadership teams

Compensation & Benefits Strategy

  • Partner with global Total Rewards and regional leadership to ensure competitive and equitable compensation structures across APAC markets
  • Guide leaders on reward and recognition strategies that drive motivation and performance
  • Monitor market trends across the region to maintain competitive positioning

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations across all APAC jurisdictions
  • Proactively mitigate risk related to employment practices, investigations, and regulatory matters
  • Maintain strong governance and policy alignment between regional execution and global standards

About You

  • Masters / Bachelor Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, Business Administration or equivalent
  • Membership of HR professional body or equivalent
  • At least 15-20 years of HR experience with strong business partnering
  • Extensive experience of progressive HR leadership experience, including significant experience in strategic people partnering within a fast-paced, scaling technology or high-growth environment
  • Experience leading People Partnering activities across multiple APAC markets
  • Strong ability to influence and coach senior leaders with a balance of strategic thinking and hands-on execution
  • Deep expertise in employee experience, performance management, leadership development, and employee relations across diverse cultural environments
  • Strong working knowledge of employment law and regulatory frameworks across APAC
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience leveraging data to inform strategy and drive measurable outcomes
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills with strong commercial acumen
  • High emotional intelligence, adaptability, and cultural sensitivity
  • Advanced understanding of global HR practices within a matrixed organisation
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong project management capability and experience building scalable processes
