Job Description

What is the opportunity? 

As a Manager in STP Governance and Controls team, you will play a key role in strengthening RBC’s governance and control framework for Statutory Transfer Pricing (STP). This position encompasses managing stakeholder requests, establishing and maintaining robust internal control processes, and supporting enterprise-wide STP initiatives. You will ensure RBC meets tax requirements while maintaining operational efficiency and integrity across all transfer pricing activities. You will also identify and drive transformation opportunities by leveraging automation tools and in-house AI technologies 

What will you do?  

  • Maintain and enhance the STP governance and controls framework, ensuring comprehensive alignment with enterprise risk management standards and regulatory requirements. 
  • Identify control gaps and inefficiencies within the STP environment, assess their impact, and recommend strategic improvements to strengthen the overall control environment and operational effectiveness. 
  • Lead and execute process improvement initiatives to streamline workflows, enhance control operating models, and improve the accuracy and timeliness of STP reporting deliverables. 
  • Manage end-to-end information gathering and coordination across business, finance, legal, compliance, and taxation functions to support enterprise-wide STP projects and initiatives. 
  • Lead global STP projects by coordinating with cross-functional teams including finance, tax, and Implementation and Policy Management & Compliance, monitoring progress, and ensuring adherence to governance and compliance standards. 
  • Oversee the execution of global STP projects by coordinating with the finance, tax, and Implementation and Policy Management & Compliance teams, monitoring progress and ensuring adherence to governance and compliance standards. 
  • Partner with external and internal auditors and regulators during reviews, ensuring timely and professional responses while strengthening stakeholder relationships 
  • Develop and build new STP processes and control procedures from scratch to address evolving business requirements, including designing documentation, implementation plans, and change management strategies. 
  • Apply analytical rigor by leveraging data-driven insights to identify root causes of gaps, quantify risks, and develop evidence-based solutions for continuous improvement. 

What do you need to succeed? 

Must have: 

  • Professional designation such as CPA, CA, CMA, or equivalent. 
  • 3+ years of experience in audit, finance, or transfer pricing within an accounting firm, financial institution, or related industry. 
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, demonstrated through both written and verbal interactions across all organizational levels. 
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power Query, PowerPoint, and Word, with demonstrated ability to process, analyze, and present large data sets effectively. 
  • Strong analytical mindset with demonstrated ability to break down complex financial and regulatory problems, identify root causes, and develop practical, implementable solutions 
  • Ability to independently manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining quality and accuracy. 

Nice-to-have: 

Experience with statutory transfer pricing or related regulatory reporting. 

Knowledge of RBC financial reporting systems and technology tools (e.g., EPM, Oracle, PeopleSoft or Tableau) 

Experience working for large, complex, and matrixed organizations.
