Your Role: Process Operator – Materials & Inventory

As a Process Operator – Materials & Inventory, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, accurate, and efficient flow of materials throughout the manufacturing operation. In this role, you will support warehouse operations, shipping, inventory accuracy, SAP transactions, material receipt, material usage documentation, and material movement to help ensure uninterrupted production while maintaining compliance with safety and quality standards. This combines the responsibilities from both existing warehouse and inventory control roles.

Your Responsibilities

  • Safely receive, inspect, sample, store, move, issue, and ship materials while operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment.

  • Maintain accurate inventory through cycle counting, SAP transactions, material reconciliation, discrepancy investigation, and timely inventory movements to support production.

  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, process receipts and shipments, prepare required documentation, and partner with the Supply Chain Coordinator to ensure timely and accurate material orders.

  • Identify, troubleshoot, and report safety, equipment, inventory, and process issues while supporting investigations and corrective actions.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance warehouse operations, inventory accuracy, safety, and overall business processes.

What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.

  • Required Experience: Experience working in a manufacturing, warehouse, distribution, or logistics environment.

  • Skills: Strong computer and documentation skills, ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment, capable of lifting 50 lbs., attention to detail, problem-solving, strong initiative, capable of working independently, communication, and teamwork.

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (preferred qualifications)

  • Experience in a GMP or regulated manufacturing environment.

  • Experience using SAP or other enterprise inventory management systems.

  • Forklift certification or experience operating material handling equipment.

  • Experience with shipping, receiving, inventory control, cycle counting, or warehouse operations.

Additional Information

  • Location: Elanco Terre Haute Manufacturing Site – Terre Haute, Indiana

  • Work Schedule: Standard M-F 8-hour shift with occasional weekend or evening shift to support urgent shipments.  Minimal overtime required.
