$31.82 - $42.96

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities:

An IOM Technologist specializes in intraoperative monitoring, with occasional responsibilities in diagnostic evoked potentials (EP) studies. This role trains with an ABRET certified CNIM (certified intraoperative neuromonitorist) to meet eligibility of CNIM examination while monitoring patients during spine, vascular, and intracranial procedures. Once training and CNIM certification are complete, the Intraoperative Neuromonitorist Trainee will transition into the IOM Technologist 1 role.

Essential Functions:

  • Train in the setup and breakdown IOM cases, focusing on proper electrode placement and equipment functionality with minimal assistance from other IOM technologists.
  • Train to monitor and interpret neurophysiological data during surgeries.
  • Complete CME coursework and URMC didactic training to prepare for CNIM.
  • Train to maintain and troubleshoot monitoring equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned


Minimum Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science required or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Prior IOM, EEG, EP or operating room experience preferred
  • Critical thinking skills preferred
  • Decisive judgment preferred
  • Ability to learn to work with minimal supervision preferred


Licenses and Certifications:

  • Certification by the American Board of Registration of Electroneurodiagnostic Technologists (ABRET) in CNIM within 1-2 years of hire required.
