Shape the architecture behind mission-critical systems.

Peraton's Cyber Mission business unit is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to support one of the Intelligence Community's most critical data and cloud modernization efforts. In this role, you'll lead systems engineering activities across the full system lifecycle—from requirements analysis and architecture development through integration, testing, and deployment.

You'll serve as a technical leader, working directly with government stakeholders and engineering teams to develop scalable, mission-focused solutions supporting large-scale enterprise systems.

What You'll Do

As a Systems Engineer, you will:

  • Analyze user requirements and develop system requirements specifications.
  • Develop Concepts of Operations (CONOPS), system architectures, and systems engineering documentation.
  • Lead systems engineering, design, integration, and implementation activities throughout the system lifecycle.
  • Guide customers in defining requirements, evaluating alternatives, and conducting feasibility studies.
  • Serve as the primary technical lead for integrating requirements, design, and emerging technologies.
  • Develop System Engineering Management Plans (SEMPs), system integration plans, and test plans.
  • Collaborate with Government leadership to resolve technical issues, engineering risks, and system challenges.
  • Communicate technical recommendations and project status to government customers, program leadership, and senior executives.
  • Conduct system trade studies to optimize performance, scalability, reliability, and lifecycle costs.
  • Develop and evaluate architecture views using DoDAF standards, including Operational, Systems, Services, and Technical Views.
  • Utilize modeling, simulation, and prototyping to reduce risk and improve system design decisions.
  • Manage system configuration throughout the system lifecycle and participate in Configuration Control Boards (CCB) and Engineering Review Boards (ERB).
  • Identify technical risks, develop mitigation strategies, and recommend courses of action throughout program execution.
  • Support Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) efforts by evaluating technical solutions based on cost, risk, performance, lifecycle considerations, and mission objectives.
  • Provide technical leadership for requirements analysis, architecture development, system integration, interface design, testing, and end-to-end systems engineering activities.
