We are looking for an experienced Head of TechOps and Security to lead our technology operations, cloud infrastructure, and information security initiatives. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, performance, and security of our technology ecosystem while driving operational excellence across engineering infrastructure. The ideal candidate has extensive experience managing large-scale cloud environments, implementing robust infrastructure strategies, and building high-performing operations teams.
As the Head of TechOps and Security, you will collaborate closely with engineering, product, and leadership teams to establish resilient infrastructure, strengthen security practices, optimize cloud costs, and ensure high system availability. You will play a critical role in defining technology operations strategy and implementing best practices that support business growth.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the organization's TechOps and infrastructure strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Lead the design, deployment, and management of scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure.
- Own and optimize AWS environments, ensuring performance, reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency.
- Build and mentor high-performing Infrastructure, Cloud Operations, and Security teams.
- Develop and enforce infrastructure governance, security policies, compliance standards, and operational best practices.
- Drive automation across infrastructure provisioning, deployment pipelines, monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery processes.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to improve application performance, system resilience, and deployment reliability.
- Implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, alerting, and incident response processes.
- Lead infrastructure capacity planning, performance tuning, and availability improvements.
- Ensure strong identity and access management, network security, vulnerability management, and infrastructure hardening.
- Manage vendor relationships, cloud service providers, and technology partners.
- Lead incident management, root cause analysis, and post-incident improvements.
- Develop business continuity and disaster recovery strategies to minimize operational risks.
- Present infrastructure health, security posture, and operational metrics to executive leadership.
Must-have Skills
- 12–18 years of experience in Infrastructure, Cloud Operations, Platform Engineering, or Technology Operations.
- Strong expertise in designing and managing enterprise-scale Infrastructure.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Cloud platforms, particularly AWS.
- Proven experience leading infrastructure modernization and cloud transformation initiatives.
- Deep understanding of networking, virtualization, storage systems, Linux administration, and distributed systems.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of container technologies and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes and Docker.
- Experience implementing security best practices across cloud and infrastructure environments.
- Strong leadership experience managing cross-functional technical teams.
- Excellent stakeholder management, strategic planning, and decision-making skills.
Good-to-have Skills
- Experience managing and improving Service Level Agreements (SLAs) across critical production systems.
- Strong understanding of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles and operational excellence practices.
- Experience implementing observability platforms, reliability engineering, and proactive monitoring frameworks.
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI-DSS, or similar.
- Exposure to DevSecOps methodologies and security automation.
- Experience optimizing cloud cost management and FinOps practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant AWS, cloud architecture, cybersecurity, or infrastructure certifications are highly desirable.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills with the ability to influence technical and business stakeholders.
- Demonstrated success in building secure, scalable, and resilient technology operations for fast-growing organizations.
