Executive Strategic Operations Analyst - Technology
This role offers a hybrid work schedule while providing the opportunity for in-person collaboration at our Buffalo, NY Tech Hub.
Overview:
Works closely with senior managers within the Division of Technology to manage key initiatives, including supporting critical cross-functional projects tied to the Bank’s strategic objectives, improving risk management, and ensuring efficiency and sustainability of core processes. Leads and/or supports design, planning, and implementation for time-sensitive, critical programs and projects. Facilitates coordination across internal program teams, senior leaders, and partner groups to ensure alignment and delivery.
Primary Responsibilities:
Participate in planning and implementing initiatives to achieve short- and long-term business objectives and strategic outcomes. Support development of project roadmaps and plans.
Provide analytical support for divisional and Bank-wide projects, including summary-level data analysis, interpretation, and development of actionable insights.
Perform intermediate data manipulation and formatting using tools such as pivot tables, charts, and structured reporting to inform decision-making.
Develop and produce ad-hoc and automated reports, including workflow, project status, and trend analysis.
Synthesize qualitative and quantitative information into clear, concise summaries for senior leadership and stakeholder decision-making.
Coordinate discussions and agenda development for regular meetings with internal program teams, senior leaders, and partner groups to drive alignment and progress.
Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.

Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.

Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years’ relevant work experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 7 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 3 years’ relevant work experience

Education and Experience Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Math, Accounting, Engineering, or Business Administration
Minimum of 4 years’ relevant work experience
Banking/financial industry experience
Six Sigma, Lean or Process Improvement, or project management-related education
Experience with SQL, programming and statistical software
Experience with financial, regulatory and/or process analysis, and technical writing
