Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Modern Data Platform Architect / Technical Team Lead to design, lead, and deliver modern cloud-based data platforms with a strong focus on Databricks, Azure Data Services, and enterprise-scale data integration.

The role combines hands-on architecture, technical leadership, stakeholder management, and delivery accountability. You will work closely with client architects, delivery teams, and business stakeholders to define scalable data platform solutions and ensure successful implementation.

Within our Data & AI Practice, we support some of Europe's largest enterprises in building next-generation analytics, AI, and cloud data platforms. As part of our continued investment in modern data technologies, we are expanding our Databricks and Modern Data Platform capabilities across Germany and Europe.

Key Responsibilities:
Architecture & Solution Design

  • Design and govern modern cloud data platform architectures

  • Define scalable data integration and data processing solutions using Databricks and Azure services

  • Establish architecture standards, design principles, and technical best practices

  • Review and approve solution designs with client and enterprise architects
     

Technical Leadership

  • Lead teams of Data Engineers, Architects, and Analysts

  • Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and code review support

  • Support delivery teams in resolving complex technical challenges

  • Act as the technical escalation point for architecture and implementation topics


Databricks & Data Platform Engineering

  • Design and oversee Databricks-based data pipelines and data processing frameworks

  • Drive implementation of modern Lakehouse and Data Platform concepts

  • Support platform optimization, performance tuning, security, and governance

  • Establish CI/CD and DataOps practices for enterprise-scale deployments


Delivery & Stakeholder Management

  • Coordinate technical workstreams and ensure predictable delivery execution

  • Collaborate with customer stakeholders, project management, and operations teams

  • Manage technical risks, dependencies, and architectural decisions

  • Support effort estimation, resource planning, and solution governance


Business Development & Talent Growth

  • Support recruitment and technical candidate assessments

  • Contribute to capability development within the Databricks and Data Platform practice

  • Participate in customer discussions, workshops, and solution presentations


Required Skills & Experience:

Technical Skills

  • Strong experience with Databricks and modern cloud-based data platforms

  • Expertise in:

    • Azure Databricks

    • Data Integration & ETL/ELT Architecture

    • Azure Data Services

    • Azure DevOps

    • CI/CD and Infrastructure Automation

    • Data Lakehouse Architectures

    • SQL and Data Engineering best practices
       

Leadership Skills

  • Experience leading technical teams and complex delivery engagements

  • Strong stakeholder and customer communication skills

  • Ability to drive architecture governance and technical decision-making


Preferred Qualifications

  • Databricks certifications (Associate / Professional level)

  • Microsoft Azure certifications

  • Experience in enterprise-scale data modernization initiatives

  • Experience in regulated or data-intensive industries
