Senior Computer Scientist

NoidaFull-timePosted Jul 27, 2026

As a Senior Computer Scientist, you'll be the technical leader shaping the architecture and engineering practices behind Firefly Enterprise's InDesign API and InDesign Server platform on Firefly Services. You'll set architectural direction, lead the highest-impact initiatives—including the migration of the InDesign Server customer and partner base onto the API platform—and define the patterns other engineers build on.

The problem we're solving: enterprises need to generate, localize, and republish complex layouts across markets and channels on infrastructure that's resilient under heavy, bursty load and transparent when something goes wrong. Without a well-architected platform, teams stitch together scripts and single-purpose servers that don't scale, don't observe well, and don't meet enterprise SLAs. You'll own the API surface, orchestration layer, and server fleet that make InDesign automation dependable at scale.

This is a full-stack technical leadership role: you'll operate confidently across the customer-facing surfaces, the API layer, and the InDesign Server infrastructure underneath, and shape how other engineers build on all three.

What you'll do

·      Own the architecture of the InDesign API and InDesign Server platform-job orchestration, rendering pipelines, render-fleet scaling, and the shared abstractions other teams build on.

·      Lead the technical strategy for migrating InDesign Server customers and partners onto the API platform: close capability and performance gaps (e.g., plugin support, dedicated clusters, debugging/logging) so customers migrate with no loss of fidelity, throughput, or cost efficiency.

·      Build and consume RESTful APIs and web services for internal and external system integration at scale.

·      Design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications using established frameworks (e.g., Java/Spring Boot, or similar)

·      Set engineering direction on scale, reliability, and observability for a platform that processes high volumes of enterprise document-generation jobs under bursty load and enterprise SLAs.

·      Define and own API contracts across the stack-developer-friendly, responsibly versioned, coherent across endpoints, and scalable across customers and use cases.

·      Establish durable async-workflow patterns: orchestration, progress and cancellation UX, retries, partial failures, and graceful degradation under load.

·      Guide‚ÄØInDesign Server fleet strategy: capacity planning, horizontal and multi-region scaling, fault isolation, and cost/performance trade-offs.

·      Drive complex, high-impact initiatives end-to-end-from ambiguous problem definition through delivery, rollout, and iteration on production feedback.

·      Participate in code reviews and mentor junior developers

·      Document technical designs, runbooks, and operational procedures

·      Raise the bar: mentor senior and junior engineers, run technical reviews, and build a culture of strong ownership and crisp execution. Align with PM/Design/Platform on roadmap, scope‚tradeoffs, and enterprise-ready platform design.

·      Fluency using AI coding assistants and agentic development tools to accelerate delivery.‚ÄØ

What you need to succeed

·       10–15 years of industry experience with deep enterprise scale platformexpertiseand strong architectural ownership.

·       Strong proficiency in at least one enterprise framework (Spring/Spring Boot, Java EE, or equivalent)

·       Hands-on experience with a major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP) — compute, storage, networking, and managed services

·       Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)

·       Solid understanding of relational and/or NoSQL databases (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.)

·       Practical experience supporting production systems — monitoring, logging, alerting, incident response

·       Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions)

·       Strong understanding of microservices architecture, messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ), and API design (REST/gRPC)

·       Version control proficiency (Git) and Agile/Scrum development experience

·       Solid grasp of application security fundamentals (OWASP, authentication/authorization protocols likeOAuth2/SAML)

·       Excellent communication; ability to collaborate across functions and time zones.

·       Ability to provide technical leadership, navigate ambiguity, and communicate clearly with engineering and product leadership.

Nice to have

·       Deep experience with Adobe InDesign Server, document/layout automation, or high-throughput rendering platforms; InDesign plugin (C++) or scripting depth.

·       Experience with enterprise platform concerns: entitlements, multi-tenancy, metering/usage, compliance, and governance handoffs.

·       Experience building products involving GenAI/LLMs (prompting patterns, model capabilities/limits, evaluation thinking, safety/guardrails).

·       Experience building developer-facing SDKs, shared libraries, or platform surfaces used broadly across an organization.
