The Managing Director combines strategic leadership, business acumen, and technical expertise to identify and scale high-impact AI opportunities, advance organizational AI maturity, and establish the governance, operating model, and talent capabilities required to support long-term success.
Strategic Leadership and Vision
- Under the direction of the CTO, the Managing Director will refine and communicate the enterprise AI vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned with organizational objectives.
- Partner with leadership to integrate AI into business and technology strategies.
- Identify emerging AI trends, opportunities, and risks to inform strategic decision-making.
Enterprise Transformation and Value Delivery
- Lead AI-driven transformation initiatives that enhance decision-making, operational efficiency, and innovation.
- Identify, prioritize, and scale high-value AI use cases across the enterprise.
- Establish performance metrics and ensure AI initiatives deliver measurable business outcomes.
Operating Model and Execution
- Design and implement the enterprise AI operating model, including governance, delivery frameworks, and talent strategy.
- Oversee the development, deployment, and scaling of AI solutions across business functions.
- Lead decisions on build, buy, or partner approaches for AI technologies and platforms.
Governance, Risk, and Compliance
- Establish and lead AI governance structures, policies, and standards.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, legal, privacy, and ethical requirements related to AI.
- Collaborate with security, legal, compliance, and risk teams to manage AI-related risks.
Portfolio and Investment Management
- Manage the AI portfolio, including prioritization, funding, and resource allocation.
- Establish frameworks to track value realization, return on investment, and performance of AI initiatives.
- Provide transparency and reporting to executive leadership on AI progress and outcomes.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement
- Drive cross-functional collaboration to ensure alignment and coordination of AI initiatives.
- Build and maintain relationships with external partners, vendors, and industry organizations.
- Serve as an executive advocate for AI adoption and innovation across the organization.
Experience and Education
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, MS, or PhD) preferred.
- Ideal candidate will have 12+ years of progressive leadership experience in technology, data, digital, or business transformation roles.
- 5+ years of experience leading AI, advanced analytics, or data science initiatives at scale.
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams and enterprise-wide programs.
- Experience implementing large-scale transformation initiatives and operating model changes.
- Proven ability to influence executive stakeholders and drive strategic decision-making.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience defining and executing enterprise AI strategies.
- Experience implementing AI solutions in complex, data-rich environments.
- Strong understanding of AI/ML technologies, data platforms, and enterprise architecture.
- Experience with AI governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance frameworks.
- Background in multiple industries or management consulting is a plus.
