This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Facilities, and Security. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

As part of a small, hardworking, and accomplished team, you will be responsible for managing and leading a team of Security Officers, identifying preferred certifications and planning for implementation, managing uniform budgets and standards, building and maintaining strong relationships within Blue Origin and with local law enforcement, and responding to emergencies.   

This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention toward safe and repeatable human spaceflight.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage and Lead Security Officer organization for assigned Blue Origin Site(s) 
  • In coordination with other Security Officer Managers within Blue Origin: 
  • Develop, maintain, and implement enterprise-level post orders for Security Officer positions 
  • Develop, maintain, implement, and track compliance for enterprise-level Training standards for Security Officer positions 
  • Identify preferred certifications and plan for implementation 
  • Identify, manage, and implement post instructions specific to the site or post 
  • Manage uniform budget and standards 
  • Must be able to maintain Human Resource requirements for all Security Officers 
  • Actively develop positive relationships with other Blue Origin Organizations to ensure the Security Officer organization is meeting enterprise needs 
  • Develop relationships with local law enforcement and emergency responders 
  • Respond to emergencies (fire/medical/suspicious person/etc.) 
  • Execute ad hoc security support as directed by Blue Origin security leadership 
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule (nights, weekends, holidays) to assess, mentor, and manage Security Officers 
  • Plan and coordinate transportation operations as required  

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or 5+ years equivalent industry-related experience; i.e. military, law enforcement, overseas security contracting, corporate security 
  • Demonstrated experience leading individuals or teams
  • Possess or be eligible for a valid state security officer license 
  • Possess a valid driver’s license 
  • Work in various environments such as cold weather, rain/snow, or heat 
  • Climb stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally during shift 
  • Stand or walk on various surfaces for long periods 
  • History of critical incident handling experience 
  • Experience instructing security tactics, operations, and procedures 
  • Computer-based proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook 
  • Ability to de-escalate disputes and/or conflict(s) 
  • Excellent customer service and oral and written communication skills 
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion
  • CPR/First Aid experience
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • History of critical incident handling experience 
  • Documented leadership experience 
  • Industry-recognized certifications (CPP or CSPM)
  • CPR/First Aid certification 
  • Project & program management experience
  • Knowledge of NIMS (National Incident Management System)


 

Base Pay Range for:

WA applicants is $129,791.00 - $181,706.70

  • Required for Certain Job Profiles: Drivers who operate Commercial Motor Vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) or combination of power unit and trailer that meets or exceeds 10,001 lbs. and/or transports placardable amounts of hazardous materials by ground in any vehicle on a public road while in commerce, may be subject to additional Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations including: Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification (obtained before onboarding), Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing, vehicle inspection requirements, CDL requirements (if applicable) and hazardous materials transportation/shipping training.
  • Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
