Winemaking in some major regions of the world can be an ‘industrial’ undertaking, but for us here at Iconic Wineries of British Columbia, every decision in the vineyard has a direct impact on the quality of what ultimately ends up in the bottle.

Exceptional vineyards require more than great farming practices. They require clear insights, strong operational discipline, and the ability to understand the story behind the data.

Our vineyards generate vast amounts of information every season, from labour and productivity metrics to purchasing activity, operational costs, vineyard performance trends, and planning data. The opportunity is no longer collecting data. It is transforming that information into meaningful insights that help our teams make better decisions.

The Role

As our Vineyard Business Analyst, you will play a critical role in helping us better understand, measure, and optimize the performance of our vineyard operations. Sitting at the intersection of data, operations, finance, and viticulture, you will transform complex operational information into actionable insights that improve productivity, strengthen cost visibility, and support decision-making across our vineyards. This is a highly collaborative role that combines business analysis, operational reporting, procurement support, and data visualization. You will work closely with Vineyard Managers, operational leaders, and finance partners to uncover trends, identify opportunities, and build reporting tools that provide clarity across vineyard operations. More than a reporting role, this is an opportunity to bring a fresh perspective, challenge assumptions with data, and help shape how vineyard performance is measured and managed for years to come.

Productivity & Performance Analytics

  • Measure and monitor vineyard productivity, labour efficiency, and operational performance across activities, blocks, sites, and seasons.
  • Analyze key operational metrics including hours per acre, cost per activity, labour utilization, and year-over-year performance trends.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Translate complex operational data into practical recommendations that vineyard leadership can act on.
  • Support annual planning processes through productivity benchmarking, workforce analysis, and operational forecasting.
  • Develop meaningful performance indicators that help leaders understand operational effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.

Data Visualization & Reporting

  • Design and maintain dashboards and reporting tools that provide visibility into vineyard performance and operational health.
  • Transform data from multiple operational systems into meaningful business insights.
  • Develop reporting frameworks that allow teams to proactively identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Present data in a clear and compelling way, helping stakeholders understand the story behind the numbers.
  • Ensure data integrity, consistency, and accessibility across vineyard reporting processes.
  • Create visualizations that simplify complex datasets and support informed decision-making at all levels of the organization.

Financial Analysis, Procurement & Cost Visibility

  • Support procurement and purchasing activities by validating invoices and ensuring alignment to approved budgets and plans.
  • Monitor vineyard operating costs and spending trends to improve financial visibility across the organization.
  • Partner with Finance and operational teams to improve cost reporting and forecasting accuracy.
  • Identify potential productivity or cost-related risks before they become larger operational challenges.
  • Maintain disciplined documentation and reporting standards that support planning, budgeting, and operational decision-making.
  • Help establish stronger cost controls and spending transparency across vineyard operations.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Partner closely with Vineyard Managers, operational leaders, finance teams, vendors, and stakeholders across the business.
  • Build trusted relationships while introducing new ways of measuring and evaluating operational performance.
  • Support the development of data-driven processes that improve consistency and operational discipline across vineyard operations.
  • Bring curiosity, fresh thinking, and a continuous improvement mindset to help evolve how work gets done.
  • Contribute to a culture where decisions are informed by data, insight, and transparency.
  • Act as a bridge between operational teams and data, ensuring insights translate into meaningful action.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, Supply Chain, Agriculture, or a related discipline.
  • 2+ years of experience in business analysis, operational analytics, financial analysis, supply chain, procurement, or a similar analytical role.
  • Advanced Excel skills with strong capabilities in data manipulation, reporting, and analysis.
  • Experience with data visualization platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to transform data into actionable recommendations.
  • Comfortable working with both operational and financial datasets in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders through data and insights.
  • Experience in agriculture, wine, food manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, or operational environments is considered an asset, but not required.
  • Naturally curious, detail-oriented, and motivated by solving problems and improving processes.
  • Able to translate complex information into simple, practical business recommendations.

What's In It For You

  • A rare opportunity to help build and shape how vineyard performance is measured across one of Canada's most respected premium wine organizations.
  • Visible impact across vineyard operations, influencing planning, budgeting, productivity improvement, and operational decision-making.
  • Exposure to vineyard operations, finance, procurement, business analytics, and strategic planning in one highly collaborative role.
  • The opportunity to create reporting tools and processes that become foundational to how our teams operate.
  • A role where your insights directly influence business decisions rather than sit in a report.
  • Partnership with experienced vineyard, finance, and operational leaders who value curiosity, fresh thinking, and continuous improvement.
  • The ability to bring a fresh lens, challenge legacy processes, and make a measurable impact on how the business operates.
  • Opportunity to grow your scope and influence as our vineyard analytics and reporting capabilities continue to evolve.
