Senior Enterprise Software Engineer
Wolters Kluwer is seeking a Senior Enterprise Software Engineer to design, develop, and implement scalable cloud-based solutions, with a strong focus on Infrastructure as Code (IaC), DevSecOps practices, and automation.
This role represents a key step in the evolution from traditional IT operations toward software-driven infrastructure engineering, where systems and environments are built, deployed, and managed through code and automated pipelines.
The engineer will contribute to the development of enterprise platform capabilities, leveraging modern CI/CD toolchains and AI-assisted engineering tools to improve productivity, quality, and delivery speed.
Key Responsibilities
Software & Infrastructure Engineering
- Design, develop, and maintain infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
- Build automation solutions to replace manual operational activities
- Contribute to the development of enterprise cloud services across Azure and AWS
CI/CD and Automation
- Design and maintain pipelines using:
- Azure DevOps (ADO Pipelines)
- Jenkins
- GitHub Actions
- GitLab CI/CD
- Ensure consistent and repeatable deployment processes across environments
- Integrate validation, testing, and security controls into delivery pipelines
AI-Enabled Development
- Utilize AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, M365 Copilot) to:
- Accelerate code and IaC development
- Improve documentation and test coverage
- Validate AI-generated outputs and ensure adherence to engineering standards
- Apply basic prompt engineering techniques to support development activities
Cloud & Platform Contribution
- Support the provisioning and automation of infrastructure in Azure and AWS
- Contribute to shared platform components and reusable modules
- Assist in implementing event-driven and API-based automation
Security & Compliance
- Integrate security practices into development workflows:
- Secure coding
- Secrets management
- Dependency validation
- Ensure compliance with enterprise standards and policies
Operations & Reliability
- Support system monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident resolution
- Contribute to observability practices (logging, metrics, alerting)
- Improve system reliability through automation and continuous improvement

Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience
Experience
- 5–7 years of experience in software engineering, DevOps, or cloud engineering
- Hands-on experience with Terraform (IaC)
- Experience with CI/CD tools:
- Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI/CD
- Experience working in Azure and/or AWS environments
- Programming experience (Python preferred)
AI Capability
- Practical experience using AI tools for development productivity
- Ability to validate AI-generated code and outputs
- Understanding of responsible AI usage in engineering workflows
