Senior Platform Software Engineer

Oracle Integration is a strategic cloud integration platform that connects applications, data, APIs, and business processes across cloud and on-premises environments. Built on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), it provides the integration foundation for next-generation Oracle Health products, enabling secure healthcare data exchange, interoperability, and connected workflows, while supporting mission-critical integration needs for Oracle’s global enterprise customers.
Description of Role
We are looking for a software engineer to build secure, scalable, and highly available cloud-native services that address the complex integration needs of modern healthcare. You will develop reusable Oracle Integration capabilities across connectivity, APIs, data transformation, security, lifecycle automation, observability, and reliability. Your work will enable Oracle Health products to integrate with healthcare systems using FHIR and other standards, while ensuring these platform capabilities remain extensible and valuable to OIC’s broader commercial customer base.
This role combines distributed-systems and integration-platform engineering with the opportunity to solve demanding, real-world interoperability challenges. You will own features throughout their lifecycle, from architecture and implementation through automated testing, deployment, monitoring, and production support. You will collaborate with product managers, architects, and engineering teams across Oracle Integration, OCI, and Oracle Health to turn diverse integration requirements into durable platform capabilities.

Responsibilities
- Build and operate the secure, scalable integration services on OCI that power next-generation Oracle Health products and mission-critical business processes for enterprise customers worldwide.
- Shape reusable Oracle Integration platform capabilities that address demanding healthcare interoperability requirements while serving OIC’s broader commercial customer base.
- Design highly available, fault-tolerant, and multi-tenant services that reliably move critical healthcare and enterprise data across cloud, private, and on-premises environments.
- Enable Oracle Health products to exchange data and orchestrate workflows across EHRs, healthcare applications, providers, payers, and health information networks using FHIR and other interoperability standards.
- Connect Oracle and third-party SaaS applications, enterprise systems, databases, messaging platforms, and APIs across OCI, AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Develop reusable capabilities for connectivity, API enablement, data transformation, authentication, authorization, private network access, and integration lifecycle management.
- Build and enhance adapters, connectors, runtime services, SDK components, APIs, and developer experiences that accelerate integration delivery across Oracle.
- Develop distributed Java-based microservices on OCI using Docker, Kubernetes/OKE, and Helm, following API-first and cloud-native engineering principles.
- Own platform components and features from inception through architecture, implementation, automated testing, deployment, monitoring, and post-production support.
- Protect the availability, security, performance, and integrity of mission-critical integrations through resilience engineering, capacity planning, observability, automation, and continuous delivery.
- Investigate complex customer and production issues across distributed service dependencies, perform root-cause analysis, and deliver durable, compatibility-safe improvements.
- Turn Oracle Health requirements, enterprise customer feedback, and operational learnings into extensible platform capabilities rather than use-case-specific solutions.
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, security specialists, and engineering teams across Oracle Integration, OCI, and Oracle Health to deliver shared roadmap commitments.
- Influence engineering quality through architecture and design reviews, code reviews, reusable integration patterns, technical guidance, and cloud-development best practices.
Required Qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech/M.S./M.Tech in Computer Science.
- 3+ years of software development experience building enterprise products or cloud services.
- Strong programming and object-oriented design skills, using Java.
- Experience designing and developing distributed systems, microservices, and RESTful APIs.
- Experience with frameworks and tools such as Micronaut or Spring Boot, Maven or Gradle, Git.
- Experience with cloud-native development and container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Understanding of scalability, high availability, fault tolerance, concurrency, security, and multi-tenant cloud architecture.
- Knowledge of API-first development using REST, OpenAPI, and API lifecycle and versioning practices.
- Experience diagnosing complex issues across distributed services using logs, metrics, traces, and other observability tools.
- Ability to take ownership of features through design, implementation, release, and production support.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, written communication, and cross-team collaboration skills.
- Ability to learn unfamiliar business domains and translate specialized requirements into secure, extensible, and reusable platform capabilities.
- Ability to innovate and deliver high-quality software in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of enterprise integration platforms, iPaaS, API management, adapters, connectors, or integration runtimes.
- Experience integrating SaaS applications, enterprise systems, databases, messaging platforms, and on-premises endpoints.
- Knowledge of authentication and authorization technologies such as OAuth 2.0, JWT, and identity and access management.
- Knowledge of healthcare interoperability, including FHIR, HL7, MLLP, or healthcare data exchange, is desirable but not required.
