Associate Designer, VF Design & Innovation

What will you do? 

A day in the life of an Associate Designer, VF Design & Innovation at VF looks a little like this. 

VF Design & Innovation is looking for a curious and creative Associate Designer to join our growing team in Denver. This role offers a unique opportunity to work across VF’s diverse portfolio of global brands – helping to concept ideas, challenge conventions and fuel innovations.  

As part of the VF Design & Innovation team, you’ll contribute to future-focused storytelling, product visioning and creative explorations that bridge innovation and brand product design. You’ll collaborate closely with experienced designers and innovators to help bring bold ideas to life and shape the future of VF’s design culture.  

This role is ideal for an Associate Designer eager to learn, experiment and grow – especially at the intersection of creativity, culture and emerging technologies like digital design and generative AI. 

Let’s break down that day-in-the-life a bit more. 

Creative Concepting & Exploration 

·       Support concept development, visualization, and storytelling across multiple brands and design initiatives. 

·       Translate cultural and consumer insights into creative sparks that inspire new thinking. 

·       Help build presentations, visuals, and prototypes that communicate innovative ideas clearly and impactfully. 

Collaboration & Cross-Brand Learning 

·       Work closely with VF brand design teams, contributing to shared creative projects and workshops. 

·       Participate in ideation sessions to generate fresh ideas and identify cross-brand opportunities. 

·       Learn from senior designers and creative leaders while actively contributing to group discussions and concept development. 

Digital Design & Emerging Tools 

·       Use digital design platforms and generative AI tools to explore new ways of visualizing ideas and accelerating creative workflows. 

·       Experiment with new methods of design visualization and storytelling that bring innovation to life. 

·       Support testing and documentation of emerging tools that improve creative collaboration and design efficiency. 

Creative Culture & Growth 

·       Help foster a culture of curiosity, collaboration, and creative exploration across VF’s design community. 

·       Share inspiration, research, and new design references with peers to keep the team energized and informed. 

·       Take initiative to learn, experiment, and grow your creative and technical skill set. 

What do you need to succeed? 

We all have unique skills that we bring to work and celebrate every day. For this role, there are foundation skills you’ll need to succeed and excel. Additionally, while formal education in a related field is great to have, we are most interested in your 0 – 2 years of experience and professional achievements. 

The foundation skills you will need in this position are: 

·       Strong conceptual thinking and the ability to visualize ideas through sketches, renderings, and presentations. 

·       Familiarity with digital design workflows and an openness to learning generative AI tools. 

·       Excellent visual communication and storytelling skills. 

·       A collaborative, proactive mindset with curiosity for consumers, culture, and technology. 

·       Passion for creativity, innovation, and pushing boundaries in design.

Hiring Range:

$60,480.00 USD - $75,600.00 USD annually

Incentive Potential: This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential. Specific details of the additional compensation eligibility for this position will be provided during the recruiting and interview process.
