As a Product Specialist – Other Molecular Systems, you will be responsible for leading the generation of sales for two distinct product lines: the MagNA Pure extraction portfolio and the LightCycler PRO. You will be assigned to a diverse group of clinical and research-lab accounts. This role involves contacting and visiting existing and prospective customers and may include account expansion and acquiring similarly significant new accounts. Additionally, you may assist in developing and implementing national sales campaigns and sales strategies for a targeted list of specialty accounts. The position requires significant technical/capital sales proficiency and specific industry experience.

As the Product Specialist - Molecular Systems, you will:

  • use professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways. Some barriers to entry typically exist at this level.

  • have specialized industry knowledge, a record of success in sales, and be viewed as an expert in the field.

  • provide expert-level knowledge of company products and services and may be tasked with introducing new products.

  • have the opportunity to work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors and the exercise of judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to obtain results.

  • network with key contacts outside of the area of expertise.

  • assume an active leadership role during the collaborative development and implementation of sales strategies to attain assigned sales objectives.

  • utilize strong product/market knowledge and sales experience to manage complex sales and resolve customer questions and concerns.

  • continuously build knowledge of current industry trends, competitive information, and industry/technical knowledge and share with other Roche colleagues.

  • retain, extend, and acquire customers through effective identification of opportunities and the creation and implementation of solutions. This will also include close collaboration with field sales representatives in other divisions that uncover opportunities for the assigned product portfolio.

  • track, manage, and grow sales of reagents and consumables for the assigned product portfolio.

  • establish and build strong client relationships that allow for growth, profitability, and predictability. 

  • communicate with other relevant Roche functions to ensure needed sales support and delivery of programs and products.

This is a field-based role - the territory spans across 5 Molecular Lab sales regions - (Colorado/South Texas, Pacific Southwest, Midwest, Minneapolis, Pacific Northwest). Ideal candidate to live within 50 miles of a major metropolitan airport within the territory.

Who You Are:​ 

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

  • 5+ years relevant sales or equivalent experience

Preferred Requirements

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including making impactful presentations, spreadsheets, and proposals.

  • Proven leadership abilities 

  • Hands-on experience with CRM software, Google Suite, and MS Office

  • Understanding of sales performance metrics

  • Strong negotiation skills with a problem-solving attitude

  • Ability to work in a regulated environment

  • Ability to travel as needed (up to 60%)

  • Relevant & proven complex sales experience in the diagnostics market (capital sales experience and experience in the research laboratory setting is a plus)

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Indiana is $111,700.00  $207,500.00. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.  This position is eligible to earn incentive compensation that is calculated and paid in accordance with the applicable Incentive Compensation Plan for the role.
