Electrical Commissioning Lead

As an Electrical Commissioning Lead, you will provide technical leadership for the commissioning of medium- and low-voltage electrical systems within a semiconductor manufacturing environment. You will work closely with project management, construction teams, contractors, vendors, and client stakeholders to support successful project execution while ensuring commissioning activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project objectives.

Responsibilities:

• Lead electrical commissioning activities from construction through final turnover for medium- and low-voltage electrical distribution systems.
• Review electrical drawings, specifications, one-line diagrams, sequences of operation, submittals, and commissioning documentation to verify compliance with project requirements.
• Perform design and constructability reviews and provide commissioning feedback throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate commissioning activities with project management, construction teams, electrical contractors, equipment vendors, and client representatives.
• Review and witness installation verification activities, QA/QC inspections, vendor startups, Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and electrical energization activities.
• Develop, review, and execute commissioning documentation including installation verification checklists, startup checklists, Operational Acceptance Tests (OAT), Integrated Systems Tests (IST), and final commissioning reports.
• Witness electrical testing performed by contractors and third-party testing agencies, including NETA acceptance testing.
• Coordinate commissioning activities for electrical equipment including switchgear, substations, transformers, panelboards, UPS systems, generators, automatic transfer switches (ATS), variable frequency drives (VFDs), motor control equipment, grounding systems, lighting controls, and power monitoring systems.
• Verify electrical systems operate safely and perform in accordance with design intent and project requirements.
• Manage commissioning deficiencies through identification, documentation, tracking, verification of corrective actions, and final closure.
• Maintain accurate commissioning documentation, project records, and progress reports.
• Support system turnover by verifying completion of commissioning documentation, O&M manuals, as-built drawings, training documentation, and closeout packages.
• Participate in Owner training sessions and final project acceptance activities.
• Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring all commissioning activities are performed in accordance with project safety requirements and NFPA 70E electrical safe work practices.
• Any other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned to you in your role.

Skills Required:

• Strong knowledge of medium- and low-voltage electrical distribution systems and mission-critical electrical infrastructure.
• Experience with electrical commissioning processes, including FAT, SAT, OAT, IST, NETA acceptance testing, and QA/QC requirements.
• Familiarity with switchgear, substations, transformers, UPS systems, generators, ATS, VFDs, motor control equipment, grounding systems, lighting controls, and power monitoring systems.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, specifications, and sequences of operation.
• Strong organizational, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary project teams.
• Commitment to safety and adherence to NFPA 70E electrical safe work practices.

Education / Licenses / Certifications

• Journeyman Electrician License or Electrical Engineering degree required.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in electrical commissioning within semiconductor or other mission-critical facilities.
• NETA certification preferred.
• NFPA 70E training preferred.
• Proof of education, licenses, and certifications will be required where applicable
