Role Purpose

  • Global Cyber Security’s role is to inspire trust and confidence in our customers by enabling secure connectivity. Our purpose is to proactively protect Vodafone & its customers by reducing the risks posed by security threats to Vodafone’s global technology infrastructure and the sensitive data it holds. .
  • The Cyber Security Product Owner’s role is to lead the development of “In House” tools that will deliver capabilities to enhance the security posture of the Vodafone. These tools will range from strategic platforms like DOAT, NetScoRr and Webscout to more tactical solutions to support Cyber Defence respond to security incidents. In addition, the role will also lead the support of tools supporting wider security objectives such as Mend, for code assurance and IBM Guardium for Quantum readiness assessment.
  • This role will be responsible for the management of a team to deliver against these objectives. The team will operate with a “start-up” mentality and the solution engineer will need to be able to lead this team through significant complexity and uncertainty to deliver working capabilities.
  • As part of the role there will also be a requirement to work closely with the consumers of these capabilities and to foster a collaborative approach with teams from both inside and outside of cyber, particularly the networks area.

What you’ll do

  • Working with the Cyber Prevent Domain Leadership team to define and implement Vodafone’s Cyber strategy.
  • Work in collaboration with the SBD team that leads for network security and hardening.
  • Collaborate with the Cyber Dev Sec Ops authority to establish and role model the approach to software engineering.
  • Act as Vodafone’s cyber network hardening technical experts. They will use their personal experience and judgement to be able to quickly determine the right treatment for their cyber security platforms.
  • Proactive identification of technical innovation opportunities.
  • Acting as an ambassadors and role models for Cyber Security advocating for security best practice, consistency in approach.

Who you are

  • Must have at least 5 years’ experience of developing software tools.
  • Strong skills in Python development
  • Strong analytical skills to inform effective data driven decisions on service improvement & risk reduction
  • Active & compelling engagement of people and stakeholders, across a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, up to and including Cyber Security Leadership Team level.
  • Communicating & reporting concise summaries of complex scenarios & information across diverse and senior stakeholder groups.
