Job Description
As a Security Officer Access Control Operations in Colonial Heights, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal, you will help maintain a welcoming, secure environment by monitoring entry points, verifying access credentials, and assisting visitors and employees. You will remain visible, respond to access-related concerns, and communicate professionally while helping to deter incidents. - Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and employees by carrying out site-specific access control procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Monitor and control access to the facility by verifying credentials, maintaining visitor records, and directing authorized individuals to appropriate areas.
- Respond to access-related incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
- Monitor entry and exit points, report unusual activity, and help to deter unauthorized access to restricted areas.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access points, interior areas, and the business perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
Minimum Requirements:
- A Guard Card/License is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
