Here, your work moves people forward, and your growth is personal. Join us, and let’s build what’s next together.

In this position...

The Ford Purchasing team adds critical value to the entire organization. You’ll help us source the highest quality parts and services from around the globe while ensuring optimal cost and on-time delivery. You’ll also contribute to establishing a robust supply chain so that we can continually produce the vehicles our customers want.

Every vehicle depends on a reliable electrical backbone — and that starts with the wiring harness. As a Wire Harness Buyer, you'll play a critical role in bringing new vehicles to life by shaping the sourcing strategy, supplier relationships, and cost structure behind this essential component. You'll partner closely with engineering and supply chain teams to ensure the right suppliers, the right pricing, and the right quality are in place from early design through vehicle launch — directly influencing product competitiveness and program success. This is an opportunity to combine strategic thinking, negotiation skill, and hands-on problem-solving in a fast-paced, high-impact procurement role.

What you'll do...

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for low-voltage wiring harnesses, selecting suppliers that best balance cost, quality, and capacity for new vehicle programs.

  • Lead negotiations on pricing and contracts to secure competitive costs at program launch and drive year-over-year cost savings through benchmarking and market analysis.

  • Partner with Electrical Engineering teams throughout vehicle development to align technical requirements with commercial and sourcing decisions.

  • Manage supplier relationships day to day, resolving supply, quality, and capacity issues to keep production and vehicle launches on track.

  • Lead resourcing efforts when a supplier faces financial or operational distress, coordinating cross-functional teams to transfer tooling, secure inventory, and protect production continuity.

  • Monitor raw material market trends (such as copper pricing) and adjust sourcing agreements to manage cost volatility.

You'll have...

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience in procurement or supply chain roles.

  • Experience: 2 + years of experience in purchasing, sourcing, or supply chain management, ideally within the automotive or manufacturing industry. Experience with electrical components or wiring harnesses is a plus but not required.

  • Skills & Tools: Strong negotiation, analytical, and cross-functional communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and standard procurement/ERP systems (e.g., SAP or similar platforms). Familiarity with cost modeling and supplier performance analysis tools is a plus.

  • Other: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, global environment with cross-functional and international teams; willingness to travel occasionally to supplier sites.

  • Spanish language proficiency is a plus (if applicable to the region/role).
