About the role:

As the Sr. Manager, Training & Commissioning, you will support the integration of training, commissioning, startup, and operational readiness activities for AP1000 projects. You will play a critical role in developing workforce capabilities, ensuring personnel readiness, and aligning training execution with plant testing, startup, turnover, and commercial operation milestones. This position requires leadership, cross-functional coordination, and strategic planning to ensure the successful transition from construction and commissioning to plant operations.

 

You will report to the Senior Director, Nuclear Operations, Training & Commissioning and be located in Cranberry Township, PA. You will enjoy a hybrid work arrangement, blending remote flexibility with regular on-site collaboration and periodic travel.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Training & Commissioning Integration

  • Be the main interface between Training, Operations, and Commissioning organizations, ensuring the workforce is prepared to support plant startup and long-term operation for future projects. You will integrate personnel qualification, simulator training, startup testing support, operational readiness activities, and knowledge transfer into a unified execution strategy. By ensuring alignment between project milestones and workforce development, the Senior Manager will reduce startup risk, improve plant readiness, facilitate efficient turnover to Operations, and help deliver successful AP1000 projects while reinforcing Westinghouse's leadership in the global new nuclear market.
  • Help integrate Training and Commissioning activities across AP1000 new-build projects, ensuring agreement between workforce qualification, startup testing, commissioning schedules, and operational readiness milestones.
  • Support AP1000 Training strategies that support safe, predictable, and efficient plant startup and turnover to Operations.
  • Support operator, maintenance, technical support, and plant staff qualifications are aligned with commissioning and startup schedules.
  • Support implementation of commissioning-related training, simulator scenarios, startup test familiarization, operating procedures training, and readiness assessments.
  • Establish performance indicators, processes, and governance to monitor Training & Commissioning readiness and identify risks early.
  • Support customer commissioning and operational readiness programs by incorporating lessons learned, operating experience, and industry best practices.
  • Support continuous improvement of Training & Commissioning processes, tools, and methods to enhance project predictability, quality, and efficiency.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or equivalent
  • Minimum 7 years of experience of applicable experience

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $144,000 and $180,000 per year.
