Job Title:  Licensed Journeyman Plumber - Part Time  (DOE G )

Job Summary:   EMCOR Government Services is looking for a Licensed Journeyman Plumber - Part Time  in Germantown, MD.  The schedule is Saturday 2:00pm – 10:00pm. This position is covered by the CBA for Local 99.

 

 

 

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assemble, install, maintain, and pressure test all pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, drainage, sprinkler, and gas systems according to specifications and plumbing codes.
  • Determine sources of plumbing malfunctions and complete repairs as indicated or according to work orders.
  • Locate and mark positions for connections and fixtures.
  • Install and repair pipes, fittings, valves, fixtures, and plumbing system equipment, including sinks, commodes, water heaters, water softeners, etc.; install supports and hangers for pipe, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems, water supply networks and waste and drainage systems.
  • Plan, install and service plumbing systems, fixtures, piping equipment and controls, test pipe systems and fixtures for leaks.
  • Receive and complete work orders assigned
  • Select material and hardware and make time and materials estimates.
  • Maintain accurate records on material and labor used.
  • Maintain inventory of district-owned tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Inspect jobs upon completion and ensure areas are clean.
  • Work with building principals and supervisors to complete projects.
  • Detect needed repairs on buildings, grounds, and equipment following established inspection procedures.

Qualifications

  • Journeyman Plumber’s License required.
  • Position requires the ability to obtain and maintain an L level security clearance.
  • Preferred 6 years’ experience in plumbing.
  • Preferred 2 years with journeyman plumbing and gas license.
  • Extensive knowledge with practical experience in commercial plumbing systems and equipment
  • Candidate must be able to communicate efficiently and effectively with customers, coordinators, and management.
  • Must have basic knowledge of Microsoft office suites.
  • Working knowledge with the use of CMMS system Maximo.

Physical Demands

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand or walk for extended periods; use hands to finger, handle; or feel; reach with hands and arms; talks or hear and test or smell. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach and handle
  • All of these requirements are necessary for using ladders and stairs, cleaning low areas, high areas, benches, and corners
  • Must be able to lift/carry 50 pounds and push/pull 50 pounds in order to clean work areas and handle supplies and equipment

Work Environment

  • Work in conditions that will create dirt and dust.
