Chief of Staff, Operations
About the Role
A seed-stage AI SaaS startup operating in the energy and high-hazard industrial sector is looking for a Chief of Staff, Operations to serve as the operational backbone of the company. Working directly alongside the CEO, you will help drive the company's most critical priorities — spanning day-to-day operations, go-to-market execution, product planning, customer success, and fundraising. This role is built for someone who thrives in organized chaos and knows how to build just-enough process to maintain momentum without creating bureaucracy.
What You'll Do
Mirror the CEO's activities to align strategic and operational priorities across the company.
Own end-to-end project delivery timelines for enterprise contracts, ensuring commitments are met.
Build and maintain strong customer relationships as a key operational point of contact.
Design and implement systems to track decisions, set priorities, and streamline cross-functional workflows.
Support the creation of materials for investor updates and active fundraising activities.
Manage day-to-day operational needs including admin, travel coordination, conference logistics, and meeting agendas.
What We're Looking For
Required:
Proven ability to design and implement scalable operational processes in early-stage or high-growth startup environments.
Strong cross-functional leadership and stakeholder management across product, sales, marketing, customer success, and finance.
Background in management consulting (MBB) or investment banking strongly preferred.
Exceptional organizational and communication skills with the ability to align teams and priorities in close partnership with a CEO.
Familiarity with project management, CRM, and collaboration tools to support operational systems.
Must be available and willing to work on-site in San Francisco, 6 days per week — this is a firm requirement.
Degree in business, operations, strategy, or a related field preferred.
Nice to Have:
Experience in the energy sector or B2B SaaS industry.
Prior experience partnering with a CEO on go-to-market strategy, product planning, customer success, or fundraising.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $100,000 – $150,000 annually

Location
This is a fully on-site role based in San Francisco, CA. Candidates must be available in the office 6 days per week. Remote or hybrid arrangements are not offered for this position.
