Director Market Risk
Job Description
The Director will lead a team of market risk professionals who provide risk management oversight and guidance to the different stakeholders through an independent and effective monitoring, controlling, and communicating of all material market risk positions–including developments, trends and concentrations; and ensures implementation of and compliance with risk management policies.
• Partners closely with Business Lines, Enterprise Market Risk Reporting & Aggregation Teams, Local Market Risk Teams, and Finance, to ensure robust risk identification, measurement, monitoring, and reporting processes related to asset-liability management.
• Partners with Market & Counterparty Credit Risk (MCCR) Risk Modernization and ALM Risk Transformation teams to collaborate on broader risk capture and reporting process improvements.
- Develop and strengthen market risk practices and key oversight programs and conduct reasonability reviews of risk assessment around key activities.
- Ownership of the market risk limit structure, including limit calibrations, annual limit reviews, and review and challenge of new limit requests with recommendations made to senior management.
- Daily reporting and monitoring of market risk exposures against limits, escalating breaches to the appropriate conduct review forums.
- Participate in annual Enterprise Market Risk Appetite calibration by providing guidance around future business plan and corresponding market risk impacts.
- Provide senior management with forward-looking analysis on potential market developments, risk concentrations, and emerging trends that could result in significant financial losses under adverse conditions.
- Perform gap analysis to identify remediation plans for adherence to internal policies and compliance with local and international regulatory requirements.
- Enhance risk analytics and reporting dashboards for senior management visibility
- Develop and maintain comprehensive Traded Risk Management policies and procedures and conduct due diligence for new products.
- Develop and execute market risk projects to implement a feasible infrastructure and enable reliable market risk measures.
