We have 2 exciting opportunities for an experienced and technically driven Integration Engineer to join Downer’s Data, AI & Integration team within Group Technology.

 

This is a hands-on role suited to a collaborative and solution-focused professional who thrives in complex enterprise environment and is passionate about building secure, scalable and reliable integration solutions that connect critical business systems, applications, cloud platforms and external partners.

 

Reporting to the Head of Integration Services, you will play a key role in designing, delivering, supporting and continuously improving enterprise integration capabilities across Downer. Working closely with business stakeholders, architects, application teams, vendors and strategic partners, you will help deliver integration solutions that enable seamless data exchange, operational efficiency and improved business outcomes.

Operating within a product-led DevOps model, you will contribute across the full technology lifecycle, from solution design and development through to deployment, support and continuous improvement ensuring integration services remain secure, resilient and fit for purpose.

About the Role

In this role you will:

  • Design, develop, deploy and support enterprise integration solutions across cloud and hybrid technology environments.

  • Build and maintain APIs, event-driven integrations, ETL processes and system-to-system interfaces using enterprise integration platforms and technologies.

  • Support the operation, reliability, availability, performance and governance of integration platforms including Azure Integration Services, SnapLogic, ODI and related technologies.

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, technology teams and vendors to translate business requirements into secure, scalable and supportable integration solutions.

  • Develop and promote reusable integration patterns, standards and best practices across Group Technology.

  • Monitor integration services, interfaces, APIs and workloads to proactively identify and resolve issues affecting performance and stability.

  • Support incident, problem and change management activities, including root cause analysis, service restoration and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automation, DevOps practices and modern integration delivery approaches.

  • Ensure integration solutions comply with security, governance, compliance and enterprise architecture requirements.

  • Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, knowledge articles and platform standards.

  • Support disaster recovery, business continuity and resilience activities across integration services.

  • Evaluate emerging integration technologies and identify opportunities to improve capability, scalability and operational effectiveness.

 

Our Ideal Candidate

You are a technically accomplished integration professional who enjoys solving complex problems, working across diverse stakeholder groups and delivering reliable technology outcomes. You are equally comfortable designing solutions, supporting operational services and driving continuous improvement.

 

You bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 10+ years' experience delivering enterprise integration, middleware, API and cloud integration solutions.

  • Demonstrated experience designing, implementing and supporting enterprise-scale integration solutions in complex environments.

  • Experience with enterprise integration platforms such as Azure Integration Services, SnapLogic, ODI or similar technologies.

  • Strong knowledge of REST and SOAP APIs, JSON, XML, OAuth2.0, JWT, messaging technologies and ETL processes.

  • Experience with API-led connectivity, microservices, event-driven architecture and hybrid integration patterns.

  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Git, automation and DevOps practices.

  • Experience supporting both project delivery and operational support environments.

  • Strong understanding of secure integration principles, access controls, encryption, monitoring and data protection requirements.

  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and collaboration skills.

  • Relevant cloud, integration or technology certifications and ITIL Foundation certification will be highly regarded.

  • You are known for your technical expertise, attention to detail, customer focus and ability to deliver practical solutions that create lasting business value.
