FTS PlatEng - Senior Scrum Master

About your role:

The Senior Scrum Master serves as a servant leader, coach, and facilitator for one or more Agile delivery teams. This role is responsible for enabling high-performing teams by protecting focus, enforcing Agile principles and team agreements, facilitating effective Scrum ceremonies, and driving continuous improvement. The Senior Scrum Master ensures teams remain focused on delivering customer and business value while proactively removing impediments and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and operational excellence.

What you’ll do:

  • Serve as a servant leader for Agile teams, fostering self-organization, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Champion Agile values, principles, and best practices across the team and broader organization.
  • Coach team members, Product Owners, and stakeholders on effective Agile delivery practices.
  • Protect the team from unplanned work and scope interruptions that may impact sprint commitments, including requests originating from Product Owners or other stakeholders.
  • Ensure work intake follows established prioritization and planning processes.
  • Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Sprint Reviews, Sprint Retrospectives, and Backlog Refinement sessions.
  • Promote active participation, constructive discussion, and clear decision-making during team events.
  • Ensure meetings are productive, time-boxed, and focused on achieving desired outcomes.
  • Establish, monitor, and enforce Work-In-Progress (WIP) limits to improve flow efficiency and delivery predictability.
  • Encourage practices that reduce context switching and improve throughput.
  • Use Agile metrics, flow data, and team insights to identify opportunities for performance improvement.
  • Partner with teams to define, document, and maintain effective Ways of Working agreements.
  • Ensure adherence to agreed processes, standards, and team operating models.
  • Hold teams accountable to established commitments, ceremonies, and Agile practices.
  • Drive consistency in Agile execution while balancing team autonomy and organizational standards.

Experience you’ll need to have:

  • 4+ years of Scrum Master experience supporting Agile software delivery teams.
  • Strong understanding of Scrum, Kanban, and Agile delivery methodologies.
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating cross-functional teams in complex enterprise environments.
  • Proven ability to influence without authority and build strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Experience managing dependencies, risks, and impediments across multiple teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education, military, and work experience

Experience that would be great to have:

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), or equivalent Agile certification.
  • Experience supporting financial services, payments, or highly regulated environments.
  • Experience using Agile management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.

Salary Range

$97,500.00 - $164,400.00

These pay ranges apply to employees in New Jersey and New York. Pay ranges for employees in other states may differ.
