S&T Customer Development Chemist, Seniord

As a Customer Support Chemist, you will be a technical professional to perform independently by planning and executing specific phases of a project. You will support trouble shooting for production or customer line. The focus area will be adhesive and sealants. Your working location will be in PPG Tianjin plant, Tianjin, China.

Key Responsibilities

• Optimize existing products through targeted improvements and leverage our technology platform to effectively scale and promote them to customers.
• Conduct development work in the adhesive segment, focusing on formulations, applications, and testing for adhesives such as rubber-based and PVC types.
• Collaborate with regional and global labs on the development and improvement of all formulations.
• Issue and update the related technical documents.
• Support troubleshooting for production or customer lines. Travel to customer sites or other PPG sites may be necessary.
• Maintain results through written and verbal summaries, reports, test drill presentations, and project updates.
• Maintain EHS compliance and keep the laboratory in a tidy, organized state.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in chemistry or related field with 6+ years of experience in automotive coating or adhesive formulation development, and 3+ years of experience in adhesive formulation or rubber-based systems preferred.
• Prior experience in customer development work is preferred: product approval, customer complaint handling, and manufacturing support.
• Strong communication skills in English (both written and verbal) to interact with global teams and customers.
• Preferred qualifications: Good at communication, creative thinking, good logical thinking, good presentation skills
