Special Projects Manager (Product)
Role Overview
We are hiring a Special Projects Manager (Product) based in Jakarta to drive high-priority initiatives across their full lifecycle, from feasibility study and business case, through build and launch, to post-launch growth and optimization. This role is deliberately not tied to a single product area: projects will vary widely across the Pluang ecosystem, and you will own whichever initiative you’re assigned end to end—validating whether it should exist, shaping what gets built, shipping it with Engineering and Design, and being accountable for its adoption and growth after launch.
This role suits a product manager who thrives on ownership and ambiguity: you’ll operate as the single-threaded owner of each initiative, working closely with Engineering, Design, Data, Operations, Compliance, and Business teams to take ideas from zero to scaled impact in a regulated environment.
Responsibilities:
1. Own feasibility and discovery
Run feasibility studies for new initiatives: market sizing, user research, competitive analysis, regulatory considerations, and commercial viability.
Build business cases with clear hypotheses, success metrics, and go/no-go recommendations for leadership.
Validate demand early through prototypes, experiments, and user interviews before committing engineering resources.
2. Drive execution from spec to ship
Translate validated concepts into PRDs, user stories, and sprint plans with clear scope and success metrics.
Partner with Engineering and Design to ship iteratively with a high bar for quality, edge cases, and operational readiness.
Coordinate cross-functional dependencies—Ops, Compliance, Risk, CS, and external partners—so launches land complete, not just code-complete.
3. Own launch and go-to-market
Plan and execute launches end-to-end: rollout strategy, internal enablement (CS/Ops readiness), lifecycle communications, and risk controls.
Work with Marketing and Growth teams on positioning, activation campaigns, and launch metrics.
4. Grow what you ship
Own post-launch outcomes: instrument funnels, monitor adoption and retention, and iterate based on data and user feedback.
Run experiments (A/B tests, pricing/packaging iterations, lifecycle journeys) to grow engagement, AUM, and revenue from your product area.
Decide when to double down, pivot, or sunset—and be accountable for the call.
5. Operate AI-first
Use AI tools as a default part of your workflow—accelerating feasibility research, competitive analysis, PRD drafting, prototyping, and data analysis.
Identify where AI can be embedded into the products you build (e.g., personalization, automation, support deflection) and evaluate build/buy options pragmatically.
Champion responsible AI usage: understand the limits of AI outputs, verify before shipping, and stay mindful of data privacy and regulatory constraints in financial services.
Requirements:
3–5 years of product management or product ownership experience, preferably in fintech, consumer tech, or digital financial services.
Demonstrated track record of taking at least one product or major initiative through its full lifecycle—from concept/feasibility to launch and post-launch growth.
Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders in ambiguous, execution-heavy environments.
Skills & Competencies
End-to-end ownership: comfortable switching between strategic work (business cases, feasibility) and detailed execution (specs, QA, launch checklists).
Data-informed decision making: funnel analysis, cohort thinking, and experimentation mindset; able to define and defend success metrics.
AI fluency: hands-on with modern AI tools (LLMs, AI coding/prototyping assistants, AI-powered analytics) and able to judge when AI output is reliable versus when it needs human verification.
Strong communicator who can align Engineering, Design, Ops, Compliance, and leadership on scope, tradeoffs, and go/no-go decisions.
Commercial awareness: understands unit economics and can connect product decisions to business outcomes.
High user empathy—especially around trust, transparency, and clarity for retail investors.
AI-native curiosity: constantly experiments with new AI tools and workflows, and raises the bar for how the team leverages them.
Comfortable operating in regulated environments with attention to detail and controls.
Bias to action; resourceful in unblocking themselves and willing to learn fast and iterate.
