The Workers' Compensation department is currently hiring for a Claims Plus Team Leader and a Field Team Leader. The team leaders will manage and direct claim investigation, compensability determination, disposition, and settlement, in compliance with corporate claim settlement policies and procedures. They will seek to effectively manage allocated loss costs relative to budget guidelines and fully comply with statutory, regulatory and ethics requirements. The team leaders shall also effectively communicate and teach a thorough understanding of business vision, strategies and plans for achieving business goals. Through effective training, coaching and staff development, they will enable optimal job performance and the achievement of individual and professional goals.RESPONSIBILITIES:Manage Claim professionals with corresponding claim inventoriesUtilize various financial reporting tools to monitor and address reserve accuracy and trendingManage and implement change including explaining drivers for business goalsStay current on issues impacting personal and/or commercial business including industry and marketplace trends, strategic direction of the organizationUse critical thinking skills to gather information, apply sound reasoning, draw appropriate conclusions and make sound decisions based on a mixture of analysis, experience and judgmentManage claim assignment process by identifying claim complexity and ensuring proper assigning to the appropriate claim handlerOversee the completion and execution of the investigation, disposition, and settlement of claims, in compliance with corporate claim standards and procedures, and statutory, regulatory and ethics requirementsAccurately and timely assess the indemnity and expense exposure of assigned claims and manage the accurate and timely setting of reservesUse organizational and communication skills to effectively manage the resolution of assigned claims, manage claim deadlines, and use resources appropriatelyUse claim functional knowledge to appropriately interpret and apply insurance coverageMaintain current knowledge of Claim loss cost containment initiatives, and use them appropriately and consistently with company practices and procedures to manage assigned claimsIdentify and initiate mitigation, subrogation and other recovery opportunities on assigned claimsProperly apply statutory laws and regulations of applicable jurisdictionEffectively train, coach and develop staff to enable them to perform their jobs and achieve individual and professional goalsEmbrace leadership role among claim team leaders and handlers and offer advanced expertise to help teammatesExperience in leading and managing all levels of staff relative to experience, tenure and professional developmentQUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree preferredMinimum 3 years of Workers Compensation Claims experience strongly preferredStrong leadership skills in terms of teaching, guiding, coaching and developing staffStrong communication skills, both verbal and written regardless of audience demographicKnowledge of medical terms is strongly preferredPossess analytical and critical thinking skillsDemonstrated track record of consistent and timely follow through for customer needsStrong understanding of reserve accuracy relative to claim exposures both property damage and bodily injuryExtensive knowledge...
