At Hitachi Energy, we are looking for a highly motivated Commercial Operations Specialist to join our APAC Commercial Operations team. In this role, you will lead and coordinate complex tendering and proposal activities across the Asia Pacific region, partnering with Sales, Finance, Legal, Engineering, and Delivery teams to develop winning commercial proposals.

You will act as the central point of coordination throughout the bid process, managing stakeholder inputs, evaluating commercial and contractual risks, developing pricing and cost models, and ensuring proposals align with business objectives and governance requirements.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Coordinate and manage end-to-end tender and proposal activities across the APAC region.
  • Partner with Sales teams to define the optimal commercial strategy and delivery approach for business opportunities.
  • Participate in bid qualification and go/no-go decision processes.
  • Facilitate collaboration among Sales, Finance, Legal, Engineering, Product Management, Delivery, and other key stakeholders.
  • Consolidate and coordinate proposal content, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with customer requirements.
  • Review commercial terms, conditions, and contractual obligations in collaboration with Legal, Finance, and Sales teams.
  • Support commercial negotiations by identifying risks, opportunities, and mitigation strategies.
  • Own bid risk management activities, including risk tracking, assessment, and escalation throughout the proposal lifecycle.
  • Develop pricing models, cost estimates, and profitability analyses to ensure compliance with company governance and margin requirements.
  • Prepare management summaries, executive presentations, and approval materials for senior leadership reviews.
  • Ensure proposals follow branding, quality, and governance standards.
  • Contribute to bid win strategies by identifying customer value drivers and competitive differentiators.
  • Support internal governance, approval workflows, and administrative procedures associated with the bidding process.
  • Collaborate effectively with stakeholders across multiple countries and time zones as part of a global team.

Your Background

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Commerce, Economics, or a related field.
  • Experience in commercial operations, bid management, proposal management, tendering, sales operations, contract management, or a related commercial function.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to understand revenue, pricing, profitability, costing, and business models.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including experience working with complex costing, pricing, and financial models.
  • Experience identifying and evaluating commercial, contractual, and business risks.
  • Ability to review and interpret contractual terms and conditions and work closely with Legal teams.
  • Strong project management and coordination capabilities, with experience managing multiple stakeholders and priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with confidence interacting with senior leaders and business executives.
  • Experience working in a multicultural, regional, or global environment is highly desirable.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders across functions and geographies.
