We’re looking for software engineers who will modernize Hertz’s tech stack and, in the process, ship delightful products to meet the ever-increasing demands of our customers.

What you will do:

• Design, implement and maintain applications that can be high-volume and low-latency
• Contribute to all stages of software development lifecycle
• Analyze user requirements to define business objectives
• Envisioning system features and functionality
• Develop and test software
• Identify and resolve any technical issues arising
• Create detailed design documentation
• Propose changes to current infrastructure
• Develop technical designs for application development
• Write well designed, testable code
• Conducting software analysis, programming, testing, and debugging
• Support continuous improvement, investigating alternatives and technologies, and presenting for architectural review

What We're Looking For:

• 2+ years of experience in software engineering and a B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages and common data structures and algorithms
• Ability to write production-ready, maintainable code with moderate supervision
• Ability to design, develop, and support systems of moderate complexity
• Ability to participate in code reviews and contribute to overall code quality
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally to gather requirements and explain technical solutions
• Strong product sense with the ability to align technical decisions to business objectives and make appropriate tradeoffs

• Learning mentality with the ability to quickly adapt to new technologies, tools, and business needs

   

We expect the starting salary to be around $135,000 to $150,000 actual salary will be determined based on years of relevant work experience
