DIV or equivalent Theological degree)4 units of CPE (required, no exceptions)Ecclesiastical endorsementBoard certification (preferred)Experience working with death and dying, individuals/family/caregiversKnowledge and commitment to hospice philosophy of careAbility to communicate effectively publicly, one-on-one, written and by phoneAbility to provide nonjudgmental listening presenceAbility to find creative ways to engage people with Alzheimer’s and cognitive declineAbility to accept different lifestyles, cultures, beliefs and valuesAbility to network with community clergy and congregationsAbility to provide devotions in a staff setting                                 Duties: Ensure patients and/or families have spiritual care counseling services, as desiredIs familiar with the Patient’s Care Plan and incorporates those Interventions and Goals into Patient Visits (when applicable).
