About this opportunity

Join the SD Applications and Platforms Operations unit as an Application Operations Manager, where you will play a critical role in ensuring the stability, availability, and performance of MITO applications. Reporting to the MITO Delivery Platform Head, you will lead day-to-day operations, manage support teams, and drive continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining high service standards aligned with organizational objectives. This role offers the opportunity to shape operational excellence in a dynamic 24x7 support environment.

What you will do

Operational Management & Service Delivery

• Manage end-to-end application support and operational activities to ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of business applications • Authorize all production system changes and oversee change management processes • Establish and maintain operational standards, procedures, and documentation aligned with ITIL best practices • Lead Major Incident Management (IM) activities and coordinate restoration efforts • Ensure adherence to ITIL processes for Incident, Problem, and Change Management

Team Leadership & Development

• Lead and develop application support teams, defining clear team goals, performance metrics, and individual development plans • Drive performance and quality improvements within the Operations team and responsible solution areas • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning

Operational Excellence & Maturity

• Drive operational maturity initiatives by implementing monitoring, automation, and self-healing solutions • Identify and resolve operational bottlenecks to enhance efficiency and reliability • Conduct regular service reviews with stakeholders and vendors, tracking operational metrics and providing executive-level reporting • Deliver Service Level Agreement (SLA) fulfilment and overall operational delivery performance

You will bring

Experience & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical/Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or equivalent experience in a related discipline • Minimum 12+ years of relevant experience in Application Support, IT Operations, or Production Support • 3+ years of experience in people leadership or service delivery management roles • Demonstrated experience managing enterprise applications in a 24x7 support environment

Technical Competencies

• Strong understanding of ITIL framework and service management principles • Working-level knowledge of monitoring and logging tools: Zabbix deployment & configuration, ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana), Kubernetes, and Grafana • Good understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) with experience in cloud cost optimization and capacity planning • Knowledge of AI/ML, cloud technologies, automation, and data analytics in operations management.

• Performance-driven and result-oriented with strong interpersonal and communication skills • Leadership and influencing capabilities to manage cross-functional stakeholder relationships • Effective team management and organizational skills with ability to prioritize and deliver under pressure • Strategic thinking with strong problem-solving abilities
