And that is something to be excited about!Your role and responsibilities:As part of the newly formed cybersecurity team you will bridge the gap between our high-level cybersecurity strategy and daily technical operations. You will work at the intersection of our IT infrastructure and our core R&D teams to ensure our intellectual property is protected without slowing down innovation. This is a "wear-many-hats" role perfect for a security-minded builder who enjoys working across the entire stack—from hardening infrastructure and automating workflows to developing internal tools that keep our innovation secure. Triage and analyze alerts generated by our MDR provider, ensuring thorough follow-up with affected users until alert resolutionAct as the initial responder for all cybersecurity incidentsGenerate detailed incident reports for all cybersecurity and operational security incidents and follow up on the action itemsConduct awareness sessions to educate all Xanadu employees on cybersecurity policiesConduct application security audits and implement necessary controlsDevelop scripts (across all 3 major OS) to automate the patching of reported CVEs without disrupting user workflowsCollaborate closely with various internal teams to refresh existing cybersecurity policies and establish new onesParticipate in the creation and validation of Disaster Recovery procedures by running tabletop and DR exercisesCollaborate with the IT team to research and evaluate new applications or solutions to enhance Xanadu’s cybersecurity postureRequired qualifications and experience:BSc. in Cybersecurity, Computer Science or related field1-2 years of experience in a cybersecurity or IT roleExperience drafting policies relevant to cybersecurity frameworksHands-on experience writing scripts in Linux or PythonExperience with one of the major cloud providers, AWS preferredSecurity mindset, detail-oriented and able to perform in a high-pressure/high-paced environmentAbility to manage shifting priorities and effectively handle frequent context-switchingStrong communication and collaboration skillsPreferred qualifications and experience:Experience in security operations, incident response, vulnerability assessments, and network architecture designBasic knowledge of Windows PowershellHas worked in a startup environment and understands the importance of wearing multiple hatsExperience with creating CI/CD pipelines for automationThis is for a new position. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and internal benchmarks. The base salary range is 80,000 - 100,000 CAD. You will also be eligible for equity and benefits.
