Position Highlights

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program and Master’s degree required with specialization in dermatology.
  • Must have current licensure to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of Minnesota.
  • Must maintain continuing education requirements to keep up-to-date with changes in the field.
  • Must possess commitment to healthcare and concern for customers and patients.
  • Must possess knowledge of medical procedures and terminology.
  • Must possess strong critical thinking and problem solving skills with attentiveness to detail.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal/human relations skills with ability to respond to questions in a tactful and professional manner.
  • Must possess good communication skills, both written and oral, to effectively communicate with all levels of staff, the physicians, customers, patients, and the general public.
  • Requires analytical skills and the ability to analyze and evaluate problems.
  • Must be able to implement and interpret policies and procedures.
  • Should be able to use common sense and be a fair judge of character.
  • Must exhibit a spirit of cooperation and teamwork.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Good leadership, initiative and judgment skills.
  • Computer knowledge preferred.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITY AND RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Conduct comprehensive skin exams.
  • Diagnose and treat a variety of skin conditions.
  • Prescribes medications and topical treatments.
  • Develop and manager patient care plans.
  • Educate patients on skin care and preventative measures.
  • Collaborates with physicians and other health professionals as needed.
  • Documents legibly and succinctly all patient care provided.
  • As appropriate, delegates to and directs nursing and non-professional health personnel in the delivery of patient care.
  • Works collaboratively with other health care professionals and agencies to provide, and where appropriate, coordinates services to individuals, families, and groups.
  • Practices under the rules and regulations of the MN Nurse Practice Act.
  • Coordinates work flow with other team members to ensure a productive and efficient environment.
  • May be involved on organization committees.
  • Required to comply with all applicable laws, regulations and standards associated with but not limited to OSHA.
