## Company: Qualcomm Korea YH ## Job Area: Engineering Group, Engineering Group > Systems Engineering General Summary: Team & Impact Qualcomm's Audio Systems team develops industry-leading voice and audio processing technologies deployed across mobile, compute, XR, and IoT devices worldwide. In this role, you will help build next-generation Echo Cancellation and Noise Suppression (ECNS) solutions by combining classical signal processing with modern AI techniques. Working across the full product lifecycle — from algorithm and model development to system tuning and customer deployment — you will have direct impact on voice quality experienced by millions of users globally. Job Overview We are looking for a hands-on Staff Audio Systems Engineer with deep expertise in speech and audio signal processing and proven experience integrating AI/ML-based audio models into production systems. You will develop and optimize voice and VoIP audio pipelines, integrate AI models within classical DSP processing chains, and collaborate with software and customer-facing engineering teams to deliver production-quality solutions across multiple platforms and chipsets. Responsibilities * Design, develop, and tune voice and VoIP audio pipelines, including ECNS, noise suppression, beamforming, and spectral filtering. * Integrate and optimize AI/ML models within real-time signal processing chains for speech enhancement applications. * Evaluate and improve speech quality using both objective metrics (e.g., PESQ, POLQA) and subjective listening evaluation methods. * Work closely with software and customer-facing engineering teams to enable, validate, and debug end-to-end audio use cases. * Support customer deployments and field issues through system tuning, model improvements, and root cause analysis and targeted system-level debugging. * Lead or support model development, validation, and selection for ECNS and speech enhancement processing. * Collaborate with research teams to continuously improve algorithms, models, and processing architectures. Minimum Qualifications * Strong background in Digital Signal Processing (DSP) for speech and audio applications. * 10+ years of hands-on experience in audio/voice signal processing or VoIP systems. * Proven experience with ECNS, noise suppression, or speech enhancement systems. * Proficiency in MATLAB and/or Python for algorithm development and analysis. * Strong C/C++ programming skills for real-time system implementation. * Demonstrated experience working with cross-functional teams including software, systems, and customer engineering. Preferred Qualifications * Hands-on experience developing or integrating AI/ML models for speech and audio processing. * Experience deploying DSP and AI solutions in real-time, low-latency embedded systems. * Familiarity with audio quality evaluation frameworks and standards (e.g., PESQ, POLQA, ITU-T, 3GPP). * Experience with Qualcomm Snapdragon platforms, Hexagon DSP, or equivalent mobile/edge chipsets. * Exposure to acoustic measurement tools and lab evaluation environments (e.g., HEAD acoustics). * Experience with mobile NPUs or hardware-accelerated inference for audio workloads. Education Requirements * Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Signal Processing, Acoustics, or Applied Mathematics. * PhD preferred, particularly for candidates with a research background in speech or audio processing. Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience. OR Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience. OR PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience. Applicants: Qualcomm...
