Job Description

The Data Specialist for the Clinical Project Department is responsible for assessing, planning, and assisting with the execution of projects. The Data Coordinator will work with the Manager on executing changes and/or updates to the project tasks. This individual will perform confidential functions relating to error resolution and performance measure reporting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties and tasks may be assigned.

  • Understand data requirements to facilitate audit of all applicable government reporting systems.
  • Understand and complete necessary data entry in all applicable government reporting systems.
  • Working knowledge of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
  • Provide support to Project Manager for technical and application queries.
  • Educate facility staff in auditing of EMR demographic charting, ESRD Quality Reporting System (EQRS) & National Healthcare and Safety Network (NHSN) reporting systems.
  • Educate facility staff in tasking and data entry in EQRS and NHSN.
  • Attend all staff meetings and in-services as it pertains to job.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all information in clinical records and complies with HIPAA guidelines.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications/Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Requirements include:

  • High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Two (2) plus years of experience in a related role.
  • Previous experience in a role requiring critical thinking and analytical skills to evaluate research and technical data for error resolution.
  • Well-versed in all Microsoft Office 365, EQRS and NHSN; proficiency in all USRC data applications required within 90 days of employment.
  • Dialysis, EQRS, and NHSN experience preferred.
  • Strong customer service background preferred.
