Lead Digital Technician
About The Role
As a Digital Technician: Lead in our Photography department, you will support the Photo Production team by partnering with digital technicians troubleshooting technical issues throughout the studio. You will be responsible for maintaining studio cleanliness, communicating studio tech needs to management, and assisting the digital technicians with daily tasks. If you are a self-motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment, this could be the perfect match!As a Lead Digital Tech you will support daily operations in Tech, act as a liaison with Photo Production, and support cross-department projects with IT, Retouching, and Styling. You will use a data-driven and analytical mindset to improve image quality and SLA guidelines, complete Tech Initiatives projects, and consistently coach PAs to maximize image quality and minimize Tech driven errors.
What You Get To Do Everyday
Studio Support
Daily support of Digital Techs and Associate Digital Tech responsibilities
Helping plan for daily tech operations and projects
Pitch new projects aimed at improving image quality, studio efficiency, and PA workflows
Maintain camera inventory and perform in house repairs where applicable
Partnering with Retouching to track and resolve Retouching Feedback Reports
Partnering with IT to track new software and hardware roll outs
Managing routine reminders for Tech Huddles
Projects & SOP’s
Supporting Tech Initiatives projects on the floor from start to finish
Tracking and documenting project from start to finish
Partnering with management to implement improvements to studio operations and tech workflows
Creating new SOP’s to optimize workflows and standardize Tech operations
Pending Images Management
Pulling weekly Pending Images reports and communicating them with team
Coaching repeat offenders in the Pending Images doc
Pulling Images and supporting Reshoots if they fall into under/overexposed
Digging deeper and troubleshooting engineering issues like missing metadata and no raws
Quarterly Equipment Management
Making sure the following are updated on a quarterly basis: Every lens is cleaned at least once quarterly, All iMacs are up to date with latest software, Light inventory
What You Bring To The Role
Minimum Requirements:
3-5 years experience in a professional photography setting
3-5 years experience using Adobe Creative Suite
Drive to achieve results both individually and as a team
Exceptional attention to detail and organization skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to tailor communication style to suit the target audience; executive presence
Adaptability and openness to change
A growth mindset with a solutions focus
Preferred Requirements:
Experience coaching and training hourly employees
Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience in photography or film
