Job Description:

The Client and Advisor Mutual Funds team is part of Wealth Operations in the Wealth National Office. The team oversees the end-to-end administration of the TD Family of Funds, supporting Retail, Wealth and Third-Party channels through fund product launches, pricing, distributions, transaction processing, trade settlement, reconciliations, fund servicing and audit support.

The team partners with internal businesses and external stakeholders, including TD Asset Management, Wealth Management, CIRO, Fundserv, custodians, transfer agents and fund companies to ensure operational excellence, regulatory compliance, strong governance and a differentiated client and advisor experience.

The department maintains the integrity of critical fund operations while evolving the processes, controls, tools and capabilities needed to meet changing business, regulatory and client expectations.

Role Mandate
The AVP, Client and Advisor Mutual Funds will lead the national mutual fund operations function, ensuring disciplined execution, strong controls and a high quality client and advisor experience while advancing the operating model, capabilities and tools required for a more scalable and insight driven platform.

This role requires a senior operations leader with the judgment to manage a complex, regulated business, the curiosity to challenge established practices and the enterprise mindset to build a modern mutual fund operations platform for clients, advisors and business partners.

Core Accountabilities

  • Lead National Mutual Fund Operations with accountability for service quality, productivity, controls, resilience, client trust, advisor confidence and sustainable business outcomes.
  • Oversee critical fund administration and servicing activities, including product releases, pricing, distributions, transaction processing, Fundserv settlement, SIP, SWP, DRIP and rollover processing, trade corrections, reconciliations and audit support.
  • Translate Wealth, TD Asset Management and enterprise priorities into operating plans, capability roadmaps and measurable results.
  • Modernize the operating model by simplifying processes, improving workflow, strengthening knowledge management, and using automation, analytics, and Agentic AI where appropriate.
  • Use internal and external benchmarking to identify leading practices, challenge established ways of working and improve service, productivity, scalability, risk outcomes and advisor experience.
  • Lead change related to regulatory requirements, enterprise initiatives, product launches, service evolution and modernization priorities.
  • Support the conversion of the Retail book from SMS to MHA by ensuring operational readiness, effective change execution, risk discipline and continuity of client and advisor service.
  • Maintain a strong control environment by embedding risk, regulatory, compliance, audit and governance requirements into daily execution.
  • Build an inclusive, accountable and coaching based culture with strong leadership depth, colleague capability and succession strength.

Client and Colleague Scope

  • Supports mutual fund administration and servicing activities across Retail, Wealth and Third-Party channels.
  • Supports critical operational functions including account set up, purchases, RESP processing, unlocking, transfers, NFUs, settlement, reconciliations, servicing enquiries, fund events and product change activity.
  • Accountable for service quality, productivity, colleague engagement, workforce effectiveness, control outcomes and operational resilience.

Shared Partnerships

  • Partner across Wealth Operations, TD Asset Management, Wealth Advice Strategy and Solutions, Product, Governance and Control, Risk, Compliance, and Legal to support governance, capacity, capability, tooling and execution.
  • Build strong relationships with external peers, industry bodies, service providers and fund companies to bring benchmarking insights and leading practices into the function.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders across Wealth and TDAM, balancing client outcomes, advisor experience, operational effectiveness, regulatory expectations and risk discipline.

Experience and Skills

  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience within Wealth Management, Asset Management, Fund Administration, Financial Services, Operations, Service Delivery, Shared Services or related environments.
  • Proven experience leading large scale teams through complexity, ambiguity and change.
  • Strong understanding of mutual fund operations, fund administration, transfer agency functions, settlement, reconciliations, Fundserv processes, regulatory requirements and industry infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of operational risk, governance, audit, regulatory requirements and control environments.
  • Experience developing multi year business, workforce, operating model or capability strategies with measurable outcomes.
  • Proven ability to improve operational performance through simplification, standardization, continuous improvement, benchmarking and data driven decision making.
  • Experience designing or evolving operating models, organizational structures, workforce capabilities and enabling technologies.
  • Strong understanding of how automation, AI, analytics, workflow and knowledge management can improve service, resilience and controls.
  • Strong executive communication, influence and stakeholder management skills in matrixed environments.
  • Undergraduate university degree required. Post graduate degree or equivalent senior leadership experience considered an asset.
