This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

Role Purpose

Lead the operational execution and ongoing evolution of Oliver Wyman Europe’s end-to-end project lifecycle, ensuring projects move efficiently from setup through invoicing and cash collection with strong governance, commercial accuracy and operational excellence.

As Regional Lead, you will combine people leadership with hands-on operational expertise, leading the Europe Project Setup team while acting as the senior escalation point for complex project lifecycle matters.

Working closely with Partners and cross-functional Finance and Technology teams, you will simplify processes, strengthen revenue operations and drive the adoption of AI, automation and ERP capabilities to improve efficiency and enhance the Partner and colleague experience.

Meet the Team

  • Reports to: Regional Executive Director of Finance

  • Day-to-day collaborators: Partners, FP&A, Controllership, Talent Management and Technology teams

  • People management: Lead the Europe Project Setup team, ensuring consistent, high-quality project setup delivery across the region while developing capability, balancing workload and scaling the operating model. Manager Input Required – confirm the approximate team size, reporting structure and formal people-management responsibilities for publication.

How This Role Will Contribute to Team Success

Strengthen operational governance across Europe’s project lifecycle, improving commercial accuracy, forecasting reliability and service consistency from project setup through cash collection.

Enable increasingly sophisticated commercial models by translating complex commercial arrangements into scalable operational processes that protect revenue integrity and support Partners.

Lead the evolution of the Project Lifecycle operating model through simplification, automation and the adoption of AI and ERP capabilities that improve efficiency and reduce administrative effort.

Your Day-to-Day

Project Lifecycle Operations & Team Leadership

Lead the Europe Project Setup team, ensuring consistent, high-quality delivery of project setup activities across the region. Build a high-performing team by balancing workload, developing capability and maintaining resilient service levels across markets.

Provide hands-on support for complex commercial arrangements and periods of peak demand, acting as the senior escalation point for project lifecycle issues and Partner enquiries. Monitor operational performance, resolve service-level escalations and use operational KPIs to identify improvement opportunities.

Provide leadership and Partners with clear reporting, insight and actionable recommendations that strengthen governance, consistency and service quality across Europe.

Revenue Operations

Own the regional Revenue Operations control framework, ensuring accurate project setup, reliable backlog management, forecasting, invoicing and cash collection. Maintain accurate project and backlog data to support dependable forecasting, revenue reporting and commercial decision-making, and lead regular reviews with FP&A colleagues.

Coordinate with FP&A, Talent Management and Controllership to determine the appropriate operational treatment of revenue and commercial arrangements, enabling sophisticated commercial models through clear controls and governance.

Improve the accuracy of revenue outcomes by addressing contractor costs, expert interview costs, rebates, e-invoicing and other non-standard commercial arrangements. Act as the regional Finance operations coordination point across Controllership, Talent Management and Technology for project lifecycle processes.

Project Lifecycle Transformation Enablement

Lead the redesign of Europe’s project lifecycle operating model, identifying opportunities to simplify processes, standardise ways of working and automate repetitive activities.

Champion the adoption of AI, ERP capabilities and automation technologies that reduce manual effort, improve operational efficiency and enhance the Partner experience.

Own the regional roadmap for project lifecycle systems, working with Technology and Global Finance teams to prioritise enhancements, resolve issues and deliver continuous operational improvements.

Skills & What You Bring to the Team

  • Experience in a senior project lifecycle management, revenue control or finance operations leadership role within a professional services environment.

  • Deep understanding of work in progress, billing and revenue recognition practices.

  • Commercial judgement and the ability to interpret complex contracts and influence senior stakeholders and Partners.

  • Experience leading operational improvement or transformation initiatives that improve efficiency, governance or commercial outcomes.

  • Experience analysing complex operational or financial information and communicating recommendations to stakeholders across international teams.

What Will Make You Stand Out

  • Experience implementing AI or workflow automation within finance or operational processes.

  • Experience with ERP, CRM and project lifecycle platforms; Salesforce experience is advantageous.

  • Experience using reporting and visualisation tools such as Tableau or Power BI.

  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint capability.

  • Fluent English; additional European language skills are advantageous.
