Purpose

Initiate, support, and lead Production Team activities targeting Quality continuous improvement and assurance within the Consumables Division.  Reports to Quality Assurance Supervisor.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • The Quality Assurance Technician provides technical support to engineers and scientists in areas
    such as production, operations, maintenance, safety, testing, process improvement or product
    development. In addition: 
    • Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles and manipulates technical data using established formulae
      and procedures and performs detailed mathematical calculations.
    • Must have an uncompromising attitude towards quality.
    • Must thoroughly understand, enforce and follow the Lincoln Electric Quality Management System as it applies to all daily activities.
    • Encouraged to initiate changes for continuous product and process improvement.
    • Maintain manufacturing quality performance metrics and/or quality records.
    • Assist with the evaluation, proper identification, and disposition of all non-conforming items and materials.
    • Be aware of all products, documents, and process changes in your area of responsibility which affect quality.
    • Utilize the Quality Management System and appropriate divisional personnel to support or drive Continuous Improvement.
    • Assist in the training and performance feedback of production personnel to production supervision.
    • Develop and perform random process and product audits.

Basic Requirements

  • Technician II: Vocational Training & 3+ years of related experience or, GED with 5+ years in related field.
  • Technician III: Vocational training and 5+ years of experience in a relevant work environment is required; or High School Diploma/GED with 7+ years experience in a relevant work environment.
    • Completes a variety of atypical assignments
    • Works with a limited degree of supervision, with oversight focused only on complex new assignment
    • Acts as an informal resource for colleagues with less experience
  • Ability to work effectively and cross-functionally on the shop floor on a regular basis.
  • Demonstrated computer skills in MS Office and Windows operating system.
  • Ability to develop and maintain records and to follow projects through to conclusion.
  • Basic understanding and knowledge of manufacturing engineering and Quality standards.
  • Ability to use measurement and inspection tools such as Calipers, Micrometers, Pins, Gauges, Protractor, and Scale.
  • Capable of frequent standing and walking and lifting up to 60 lbs.
  • Must have excellent attendance, safety and work record.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts. This position works: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift and rotates weekly.
