Job Duties 

  • Design, develop and maintain security automation playbooks and workflows using Python.

  • Develop AI agents and AI-driven automation for security operations and incident response use cases.

  • Build Agentic AI workflows using MCP and modern AI orchestration frameworks.

  • Develop Python services, REST APIs and reusable automation components.

  • Create and optimize PostgreSQL queries for SOC automation and analytics.

  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, containerized services.

  • Debug product issues and collaborate with Product Development and QA teams.

  • Support SOC automation, workflow development and platform integration.
     

Required Technical Skills & Experience 

  • 5+ years of professional experience in software development, cybersecurity engineering, security automation or a related field.

  • Hands-on experience with SOAR platforms, security automation playbooks or incident response workflow automation.

  • Strong Python development and REST API programming experience.

  • Hands-on experience with AI Agents, Agentic AI and MCP concepts.

  • Experience with prompt engineering and structured LLM output generation.

  • Experience developing and evaluating traditional machine learning models using techniques such as logistic regression, random forests, XGBoost, Isolation Forest and k-means clustering is an asset.

  • Experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases.

  • Experience with Docker, microservices and Linux/Bash.

  • Experience with Git, CI/CD (GitLab CI/CD or GitHub Actions).

  • Experience building asynchronous or distributed applications.

  • Experience with JSON, YAML and Jinja2 templating.

  • Knowledge of SDLC and software engineering best practices.

  • Experience troubleshooting distributed systems.

  • Experience with Fortinet products is a plus.

  • Experience with Multi-tenant architecture.

 Educational & Certification Requirements

  • Security certifications (CISSP, CCSP, OSCP, etc.) are a plus.

The Canada base salary range for this full-time position is expected to be between $92,000 - $112,000 annually.  Wage ranges are based on various factors including the labour market, job type, and job level.  Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate’s subject knowledge, skill level, qualifications, and experience.
