Job Description

The role (Material Master Data domain Lead) we are introducing is pivotal in this journey. She/he is the voice of IT within the Product Data Council and therefore senior facing/influencer up to Director level. She/he will not only represent IT in working & steering groups, but be responsible for bringing thought leadership, leading practice and delivering agreed IT components & solutions.

 This role is responsible for creating a single, consistent view of Material Master Data (Raws, Packaging, Finished Goods, etc.) across client through the full lifecycle by establishing enterprise data model & architecture, SAP MDG Template & Integration, Data Quality & Process reporting and retirement of subsequent legacy solutions.

Key Responsibilities

This role collaborates with the various x-functional domain owners, in-flight programs (e.g. Traceability and Digital Foundations), stewards & governance associated with the Product Domain to translate business process and standards into an E2E solution template, data model and architecture for global deployment. They will work closely with the Data Senior Architect, MDM Technology Expert and relevant Functional Capability roles. The ideal candidate will have experience designing & delivering enterprise scale MDM solutions on the SAP stack (MDG/IS/Data Services/HANA, etc.).

 

MDM Template Leadership & Delivery

·       Deliver the blueprinting and functional design of MDM Template solutions, linked to Master Data domain strategies, agreed golden processes and standards.

·       Design & deliver capabilities that enable scalable and actionable Data Quality insight, and ensure tools enable efficient processes.

·       Actively contributes to the Data Strategy and Enterprise Architecture definitions, based on experience and industry trends insights. Works to evolve standards and best practice.

·       Works closely with the Information & Application Architecture Director to ensure the right mix of skills & talent in technical delivery across internal associates & third parties, and supports strategic organization definition for Data Management.

·       Coaches and mentors junior associates pursuing a technical/expert career path and in their day to day work

·       Serve as the technical lead and senior architect on proof of concept (POC) and follow-on activities relating to the broader initiative

 

Digital Foundations, Material Delivery

·       Define clear roadmap that ensures our migration from the AS-IS state to the TO-BE state is carefully planned and delivered, avoiding disruption to existing operations.

·       Is responsible for all milestones and resource within their scope, reporting into the Data Program Senior Manager.

·       Plan, agree and deliver against timeframes within budget estimates, influencing & direct scope as appropriate.

·       Work in partnership with leads from technology vendors and third parties to verify, validate & evolve approaches, designs & quality of end state solutions.

 

Advice on and direct the Core Capability and Segment Data Roadmaps

·       Work closely with peer Architects to evolve the Data roadmaps which will help with their information needs.

·       Actively manage the transition process and define the migration guidelines for the segments from their As-Is landscape to the To-Be strategic landscape with the aim of simplification and improved efficiency of information.

·       Drive innovation in the Data initiatives of the portfolio and develop a longer term view of where the industry is moving and opportunities

·       Partner with the Data Senior Architect to actively drive the simplification of the landscape in working with the Core Services technical architects and drive decommission plans for all non-strategic components of the Global Data Architecture.

 

Co-Develop the Data integration Strategy

1.       Drive innovation in Master Data Management (MDM) portfolio and develop a longer term view of where the technologies are moving to and how they can be of used

2.       As the market is changing rapidly in terms of Data integration products, managing this complex and changing environment and define a strategic approach to acquiring, managing and maintaining business data integration

3.       With DT Master data leads and Data champions, identify & highlight where business demand requires either a suitable solution change or business transformation.

4.       Delivers updates to Segment Leadership teams, with accountability to progress, own actions & risks

 

Job Specifications/Qualifications

• College Degree, preferably in a technical field
• Considerable experience of Master Data Management or Data Architecture (including relevant collaboration experience) spanning multiple domains in a complex multi-national corporate environment.
• Experience in designing and implementing MDM solutions on the SAP stack (MDG/DT/Data Services/HANA, etc.)
• Envision, model and optimize complex yet efficient business processes, data and workflows.
• Demonstrated Leadership skills, with independence and proven management experience within a matrix organization.
• Background in the BI, Information, Data, Analytics space
• Strong Business Acumen of the FMCG industry and the Product/Material area
• Experience with Solutions Architecture, Applications portfolio management
• Budget Management (Project based)
• Stakeholder Relationship Management of global leaders
