Lead Activities Aide

Plans, organizes, directs, and participates in a broad program of recreational services appropriate for the participants of Providence ElderPlace.
Responsibilities include:
1. Planning and organizing large group and small group therapeutic activities for geriatric participants. 
2. Managing a busy day while being very flexible depending upon the changing environmental needs of geriatric participants.
3. Designing individual activity plans for geriatric participants that maximize their therapeutic experience.

Required Qualifications:

  • Upon hire: In compliance with company policy and state regulations, a Department of Human Services (DHS) criminal background check may be required for this position based upon the location of the position. Fingerprinting may be required also. 
  • Experience leading therapeutic group activities, discussions, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Recreational Therapy, Creative Arts Therapies or related fields.
  • Coursework/Training and Activity professional certification
  • Experience in participant assessments and care planning
