Job Title: Senior QA/QC Engineer
KBR is growing its Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team for an exciting, high profile offshore development in Abu Dhabi. The ADNOC PMC project role would be based initially in Client or Contractors Office in Abu Dhabi.
Job Summary
The Senior QA/QC Engineer is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and maintaining the Project Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure all construction and engineering activities comply with contract requirements, approved specifications, relevant codes and standards, and client quality requirements. The role involves managing inspections, audits, quality documentation, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Management
- Implement and maintain the Project Quality Plan (PQP) and Quality Management System.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standards, project specifications, client requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Develop and review quality procedures, method statements, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and quality control processes.
- Monitor quality performance and recommend improvement actions.
Inspection & Testing
- Coordinate and supervise site inspections and testing activities.
- Review inspection reports and ensure compliance with approved standards and specifications.
- Witness material testing, factory acceptance tests (FAT), and site acceptance tests (SAT) where applicable.
- Ensure calibration and proper maintenance of inspection and testing equipment.
Documentation Control
- Review and manage quality records, inspection reports, test certificates, and material approvals.
- Ensure all quality documentation is properly maintained and submitted as per project requirements.
- Prepare QA/QC reports for management and clients.
Non-Conformance & Corrective Actions
- Identify quality issues and raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
- Investigate root causes of quality deviations.
- Monitor corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) until closure.
- Implement lessons learned to prevent recurrence.
Audits & Compliance
- Conduct internal quality audits and participate in external/client audits.
- Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, codes, and project specifications.
- Support certification and compliance initiatives.
Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor QA/QC Engineers, Inspectors, and Quality Supervisors.
- Provide guidance on quality requirements and inspection procedures.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, and client representatives on quality matters.
Client & Stakeholder Coordination
- Attend quality meetings with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and project teams.
- Address client concerns related to quality and provide timely resolutions.
- Support project handover and close-out quality requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related discipline).
- Professional certifications in Quality Management are preferred.
- ISO 9001 Internal Auditor/Lead Auditor certification preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 15 years of QA/QC experience.
- At least 5 years in a senior QA/QC role.
- Experience in construction, infrastructure, oil & gas, petrochemical, industrial, or EPC projects preferred.
- Middle East/GCC project experience is an advantage.
