Roles & Responsibilities:
Renal Physiology Post-Doctoral Position
This is a Post-Doctoral Position in a Renal Physiology Research Lab at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. The applicant will have a PhD, MD, or equivalent degree. The position requires familiarity with the principles behind basic renal physiology and molecular biology techniques, including genetic and physiologic analyses of mice. The individual must be comfortable with breeding mice, sacrificing mice and extracting tissues, specifically kidneys, for molecular and genetic analysis. The applicant should also be familiar with principles behind performing polymerase chain reactions (PCR) and histological analysis of tissue sections. The applicant will receive additional training on the execution of tubule dissection and tubule microperfusion by the employer.
ELIGIBILITY (please apply only if you meet all of the criteria below):
1. PhD or equivalent. Preferred experience in Renal Physiology and Molecular Biology
2. Availability to start this position in Dec 2021.
3. Commitment to the position for at least two years
4. Excellent time management, leadership, verbal and written communications skills are essential: the position includes both teamwork and independent tasks
5. At least 5 years experience working in a research lab is required
