Senior Systems Engineer
Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking a Systems Engineer with proficiency in various technologies supporting communications, radiofrequency, optical systems and signatures, and TEMPEST evaluations or countermeasures.
The ideal candidate will be creative, self-driven, curious, engineering and research-oriented and comfortable defining a path through ambiguity towards high-level goals. The successful candidate should be comfortable applying engineering expertise to risk assessment and will support the customer's overall counterintelligence threat analysis of technical devices and communication systems. This position consists of, but is not limited to the following:
- Provide initial security risk analysis using both quantitative and qualitative approaches, develop analytic judgements such as relevance or vulnerabilities, and prepare briefings/reports documenting the methodology used and the results obtained.
- Develop and execute advanced security strategies and solutions, ensuring the organization's systems and data are protected against evolving threats.
- Recommend system enhancements to improve security deficiencies.
- Provide independent counterintelligence assessment of projects regarding technical risk including risk definition, assessment, and prioritizing
- Perform technical analysis of communication systems and infrastructure to ensure it meets security criteria and mission constraints and provide analysis, mitigations and countermeasure requirements as needed.

- Provide highly specialized knowledge and expertise to support requirements or issues related to threats and vulnerability, policy and regulations, intelligence, and optimizing organizational processes and needs.
- Ability to engage effectively with personnel at all levels and collaborate across multiple office organizational levels to meet mission needs.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated experience and sincere interest in contributing to a positive work environment.
Qualifications
Required Skills:
- TS/SCI with Polygraph level clearance is required
- Minimum of 12 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 10 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 7 years with Ph.D.; an additional four years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Thorough understanding of systems engineering with strong attention to
- Experience working with computer software/hardware, associated peripherals, and telecommunications networks - Knowledge and familiarity with computer hardware and software, especially network security/monitoring applications and configuration.
- Expertise with RF communications technologies and protocols to include specific knowledge regarding potential vulnerabilities which could create a Cl
- Knowledgeable of regulatory standards and spectrum
- Experience evaluating and prioritizing all analytical
- Familiarity with building facility power systems and/or
- Familiarity with cybersecurity considerations in communications
- Communicate effectively with team members, managers, sponsors and business partners throughout the project lifecycle (project updates, scope changes, challenges, date changes).
- Experience with Ops documentation/plans and messaging and technical intelligence reports.
