This role involves supporting Oracle, PostgreSQL, and Cassandra environments, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and maintaining strong operational stability through performance tuning, automation, and incident management. ## What you’ll do * Design, develop, and maintain SQL and PL/SQL procedures, packages, functions, and triggers * Administer Oracle, PostgreSQL, and Cassandra databases across environments * Perform database performance tuning and query optimisation * Manage backup, recovery, replication, and disaster recovery processes * Execute database upgrades, migrations, and deployment activities * Support database operations in collaboration with application and infrastructure teams * Troubleshoot production incidents and provide timely resolution * Monitor database performance and identify bottlenecks impacting applications * Manage database security, user access, and compliance requirements including auditing and SOX activities * Deliver automation using Shell or Python scripting to improve operational efficiency * Participate in on-call support for high-priority database issues * Support DML operations and ensure service availability * Prepare technical documentation and contribute to continuous service improvement ## Who you are * Experience in database administration and architecture with a focus on operational excellence * Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL development (6+ years) * Hands-on experience with Oracle (11g/19c), PostgreSQL, and Cassandra databases * Experience with Oracle GoldenGate (OGG) is beneficial * Strong understanding of performance tuning and optimisation techniques * Knowledge of AWS cloud environments and database monitoring tools * Experience working with ticketing tools and incident management processes * Proficiency in Unix/Linux environments and scripting (Shell, Python or similar) * Ability to analyse system performance issues and implement effective solutions * Familiarity with backup, recovery, and high availability solutions * Understanding of compliance and audit requirements (e.g. SOX) * Telecom domain knowledge is an advantage * Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment ## Not a perfect fit?
