Introduction to the Team

Travel Partnerships and Advertising helps partners, including hotels, airlines, destination marketing organizations (DMOs) and more, deliver excellent traveler and B2B experiences. We drive growth for our partners and the Expedia Group marketplace through competitive supply, our leading advertising and travel media network and affiliate solutions.

The Commercial Operations team sits at the heart of TPA, enabling the delivery of high-impact programs across Field Operations, Connectivity, Partner Journeys, and Solutions & Capabilities. As a Portfolio Manager, you will play a critical role in keeping our portfolio of programs visible, healthy, and moving — while helping us work smarter through AI and automation

Focus

  • Portfolio tracking and transparency – maintain an accurate, current view of program scope, status, and health across the assigned Commercial Operations portfolio.

  • Delivery support and coordination – keep programs moving by tracking milestones, dependencies, and risks, and driving timely follow-up.

  • Performance reporting – operate scorecards and KPIs and produce clear, insight-driven readouts for leadership.

  • AI-enabled portfolio operations – use AI and automation in day-to-day work to reduce manual effort, improve data quality, and speed up reporting.

In this role, you will:

1. Portfolio Tracking & Governance

  • Maintain the Commercial Operations portfolio view: keep portfolio structure, categories, and program records accurate and current, ensuring every program has clear objectives, KPIs, and status.

  • Support portfolio governance forums: prepare materials and data for monthly and quarterly Portfolio & Performance reviews, and capture and track resulting actions and decisions.

  • Support intake and reprioritisation: help assess new requests and changes to existing programs, and keep the portfolio backlog and priorities up to date.

  • Align to TPA strategy: ensure programs and milestones are mapped to TPA priorities, Tiered initiatives, and company-level scorecards.

2. Portfolio Execution, Risk & Health

  • Track portfolio health: monitor RAG status, timelines, scope, and benefits across assigned programs; flag issues early and follow up to resolution.

  • Apply program lifecycle standards: ensure programs follow portfolio-wide standards for charters, stage gates, launch criteria, BAU transition, and closure.

  • Support Phase Gate Reviews: coordinate program kick-off and stage-gate reviews, ensuring readiness, clear success metrics, and documented outcomes.

  • Track cross-team dependencies: maintain visibility of cross-LOB and cross-function dependencies, and escalate conflicts and constraints to the Director.

3. Performance & Insights

  • Maintain clear, quantifiable KPIs and financial outcomes (NBV, MC, cost, partner satisfaction, time-to-value) for programs in the portfolio.

  • Support the director to run the monthly and quarterly portfolio review rhythm: coordinate data updates, validate commentary, and produce concise, insight-driven readouts for LT.

  • Translate performance data into simple narratives and options for leadership (where we are, what’s driving it, what needs to change).

4. AI-Enabled Portfolio Operations

  • Drive the use of AI in day-to-day execution of portfolio reporting and operations, for example:

    • AI-assisted status report generation and quality control (outcome-driven, exec-ready updates).

    • AI-powered portfolio dashboards and summarisation (automatic roll-ups by theme, LOB, tier, health, risk).

    • AI agents that validate data quality, flag inconsistencies, and suggest improvements.

  • Partner with internal teams to test and adopt portfolio-specific agents

  • Track the impact of AI on portfolio operations (time saved, error reduction, coverage, speed to insight) and share learnings.

5. Stakeholder Management & Communication

  • Act as a reliable point of coordination for program teams and the Director on portfolio status, priorities, and actions.

  • Connect teams and programs: keep Field Ops, Connectivity, Partner Journeys, Solutions & Capabilities and other partners aligned on goals, timelines, and impacts.

  • Provide clear, outcome-centred communication tailored by audience and channel (scorecards, dashboards, emails, forums).

  • Build and maintain a central portfolio hub (SharePoint / Jira / dashboards) as the single source of truth for portfolio data and artefacts.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Experienced portfolio / program professional with 6+ years in portfolio management, program management, PMO, or operations roles supporting complex, cross-functional programs in a global environment.

  • Track record of keeping multi-team programs on track from planning through delivery, with clear business outcomes (revenue, cost, partner / traveler experience).

  • Strong organisation and coordination skills: able to manage many moving parts, chase detail, and keep data accurate and current.

  • Comfortable working with data, scorecards, and KPIs – defining metrics, interrogating data, and turning analysis into clear recommendations.

  • Hands-on experience using AI and automation in daily work (e.g., AI assistants, agents, dashboards, summarisation, document generation, Claude Code, Glean) and a strong interest in AI-enabled ways of working.
