ActioNews Trade Shows Publications Accomplishments Press Releases ActioNet Blog contact us careers Home /  Become One Of Us! /  Search Jobs /  Compute and Storage Management Compute and Storage Management | Req#4309 Rockville, Maryland Apply Description The Compute and Storage Engineering Lead is responsible for the architecture, engineering, performance optimization, resiliency planning, and lifecycle management of enterprise compute and storage infrastructure supporting mission-critical applications and enterprise services.Location: Rockville, MDSalary:  130,000-172,000Clearance:  Secret or L Clearance  Responsibilities:• Design, engineer, and support VMware cluster environments, physical host infrastructure, and associated compute resources, ensuring high availability, optimal capacity utilization, and compliance with enterprise uptime and SLA requirements.• Administer enterprise SAN and NAS storage platforms, including LUN provisioning, storage allocation, replication configuration, performance tuning, and capacity forecasting to support database, application, and virtual machine workloads.• Ensure integration between storage systems and enterprise backup platforms such as Commvault, validating backup operations, snapshot management, and replication alignment with disaster recovery objectives.• Monitor compute and storage performance using enterprise monitoring tools, proactively addressing latency, resource contention, and capacity constraints to prevent service degradation.• Lead infrastructure lifecycle management and technology refresh initiatives, developing modernization roadmaps and presenting recommendations to senior IT leadership during governance reviews.• Participate in Change Advisory Board (CAB) processes to ensure compute and storage changes are properly risk assessed, documented, tested, and approved prior to production deployment.• Support disaster recovery and continuity of operations exercises by validating cluster failover capabilities and storage replication integrity in coordination with DR stakeholders. Requirements• Bachelor’s Degree and 8+ years of relevant experience engineering and supporting enterprise compute and storage infrastructure.• Strong experience designing and optimizing VMware cluster and hypervisor environments.• Advanced knowledge of SAN and NAS architectures, storage replication technologies, and performance optimization techniques.• Experience with storage provisioning, LUN management, tiering strategies, and long-term capacity planning.• Experience integrating storage platforms with enterprise backup solutions such as Commvault.• Knowledge of high-availability architectures and failover design principles.• Experience using enterprise monitoring tools for compute and storage performance analysis.• Familiarity with infrastructure lifecycle planning and hardware modernization strategies.• Preferred certifications: VMware Certified Professional (VCP); NetApp Certified Data Administrator (NCDA) or equivalent storage certification.Clearance:SECRET or L Clearance  ActioNet is a CMMI-DEV Level 4, CMMI-SVC Level 4, ISO 20000, ISO 27001, ISO 9001, HDI-certified, woman-owned IT Solutions Provider with strong qualifications and expertise in Agile Software Engineering, Cloud Solutions, Cyber Security and IT Managed Services.   With 25+ years of stellar past performance, ActioNet is the premier Trusted Innogrator! Core Capabilities: Advanced and Managed IT Services Agile Software...
